Lovely house in beautiful Loire Valley.

5 of 5
Dido to all the other 5 star reviews here. Frederique is a great Host. As she said, she was there when we needed her and not there when we did not need her. The house is as beautiful as it looks in the pictures. It was very clean and comfortable. My ten-year-old daughter enjoyed the pool and the huge yard where she could practice her soccer skills. The kitchen was well stocked with all kinds of goodies, which showed the generosity of our hosts. As for the location, it was perfect for our stay in Loire Valley. Close to many Chateauxs and to Paris as well. The bicycle ride from Blois to Chambord, despite my daughter's crash and getting lost on the way back was one our most memorable activities in the Loire Valley. I am an artisan baker. Frederique went out of her way to arrange a meeting with the famous local artisan baker Christophe Maureille. I found Mr. Maureille and his wife to be very sweet and down to earth people. Daily trips to Maison Maureille are a must! Also try La Parenthèse or Les Toques in Orleans for an excellent dinner. I highly recommend ' Le Pot Vert ' for your Loire Valley vacation.

La douceur de la vie

5 of 5
A gorgeous house overlooking breathtaking gardens down to the Loire, with an unfailingly interesting panorama of bird life. Lavish provision of crockery, cutlery, glassware, linen, etc--way beyond normal for a rental house. All is comfortable, and living in the house is like a university course in architecture. Cathedrals & chateaux take a little driving but are all doable in day trips. The nearby supermarket has everything you need, down to huge artichokes and okay claret. The charming and intelligent gardiner is a special and unexpected plus. The only downsides: the smell of dog in the drawing rooom and the ordinariness of the village, which of course you only see passing in and out of the walled grounds.
