MAGNIFICENT WINTER STAY

5 of 5
Our family spent a magical two and a half weeks at the guesthouse during the Christmas and New Years holidays. This property is truly amazing---words cannot adequately describe the setting of the guesthouse nor the beautiful grounds of the Chateau de la Briche during winter. The weather was pleasant and we had many days of sunshine. We enjoyed daily walks in the stunning forest and walked around the lake. We rode owner-provided bicycles throughout the property. The guesthouse is quite spacious and there was more than adequate heating to keep us as cozy as we wanted. The onsite caretaker, Thierry, was extremely pleasant and helpful. We enjoyed many treks to nearby chateaus, restaurants, street markets and other holiday attractions. During the holidays, the streets in all of the nearby towns were lit up with Christmas lights. The city of Tours, just half an hour away, had a fabulous holiday market, with wonderful knick-knacks and tempting food. Our only regret was leaving this beautiful property, when it was time to return home. We will surely come again and plan on another winter/spring visit in the near future.

SURREY, PORT COQUITLAM, TOFINO BRITISH COLUMBIA

5 of 5
Richard & Angela. Chatre was a haven of peace & quiet for six weary travellers arriving after a 12 hour drive in the dark & pouring rain. Anyone intending to visit this beautiful area of France would be well advised to make arrangments to stay at your cottage. Beautifully furnished & supplied with everything we needed for a stress free vacation and the opportunity of mingling with friendly locals who went above & beyond to assist visitors who couldn't speak their language. Your cottage is perfectly situated to visit the local markets of Descartes and Loches, the ancient villages of Paulmy, Angles-Sur L'Anglin, Les Grand Pressigny and the beautiful Chateau de Chenonceau or take a balloon flight over the Loire Valley. At the end of a long day, we brought Paella & fresh seafood home from the market and enjoyed a drink on the patio, watching for deer in the fields and sitting in awe of the sunset and the canopy of stars in absolute quiet after dark. We were extremely lucky to come upon a family of wild boar crossing the road in front of us - what a sight. As it was October we had to dodge a few showers but as the temperature was mild, it didn't stop us from venturing out and enjoying our days. Five full days went by too quickly and we would have missed much without the help of Denise & Martin who watch over Chatre when you are absent. It was a rare treat to meet and spend time with them. Thank you Richard & Angela for the pleasure of visiting Chatre. Thank you also, Denise & Martin - you were absolutely lovely.
