Well equipped home in near Carcassone

5 of 5
This is a spacious home on a quite street. It came fully furnished right down to champagne flutes. There is a nice patio in the front and another in the rear of the home. It is well maintained and clean. The town itself is a good base to explore the surrounding countryside including Carcassone. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property and if I were to return to the area would definitely rent it again. The owner has equipped the home with wi-fi and there is free phone to North America.

The most PERFECT rental in the south of France!

5 of 5
We were so incredibly pleased with this villa, it's hard to overstate it. It was our family's first trip to southern France and we were hoping to find a beautiful, clean, picturesque apartment. Danielle's villa FAR exceeded every expectation we had. Picture winding through the perfect set of ancient cobblestone streets and approaching a vine-covered, shuttered, carved door, limestone fantasy. The apartment is 700 years old and stunning. You enter through an arched-ceiling foyer and head up two small flights of stairs through beautiful, secret courtyards. Arched French doors, tile floors, limestone walls, huge wood beams, cremone bolts on all the windows await you. The apartment is very big, much bigger than we expected, and has everything you could ever need. The location was so quiet and quaint, and walking distance to shops, cafes, restaurants and markets. Actually, it was even walking distance to the main part of Avignon where you can see the bridge, the Pope's palace, tons of fantastic shops (including antiques), and street markets of cheese, bread, olives, produce, antiques, linens, flowers, etc. Parking was possible every night, though not always right in front. We rented a car from the Nice airport and used Avignon as our hub. We did four beach days on la cote d'azur (Le Ciotat, Les Saintes Maries De La Mer (the best), Antibes), we spent an afternoon in Arles, we visited L'Isle De La Sorgue (fantastic markets), Uzes, Calanques De Cassis, and many more. There is SO much to see and do, every day is an adventure of beauty and food. Danielle is the ideal hostess. So kind and accomodating. Midway through our trip, I lost my cell phone in Marseilles and she was so helpful in making calls to the stores to find it. She also walked us to a hard-to-find restaurant a few blocks away and helped us navigate a true French dinner experience. We would love to visit her villa again. THIS is a gem. Other info: wifi was great, washer/dryer was super helpful, Danielle started us off with several food items in the fridge - lovely, and make sure to check out which towns hold which markets on which days before you plan your trip. The markets are a joy.

What an absolutely perfect home!

5 of 5
This home is amazing. There is so much to do within the immediate area. We took a beautiful hike to a secluded pebble beach. We began the hike at a trailhead five minutes from the house. The view from the house is spectacular! The town here is small but has a little market that has beer and other necessities. The tourism center is very helpful. There is much to do in the area. We drove to Carcassonne to visit the castle. That was an amazing trip! There is a little beach restaurant very close, Le Bout du Monde we drove to. You need to make a reservation. It was fabulous, a must do! Hope to visit this place again someday!
