Some friends and I stayed in this apartment in Bordeaux for a weekend escape in the end of August. What a lovely property! I would live there in a heartbeat. The apartment boasts three bedrooms, several bathrooms, and a well-stocked kitchen. We enjoyed spending our evenings preparing simple meals and tasting wines around the dining room table while the sounds of the surrounding square floated in through the open windows. The warm August weather made some of the bedrooms upstairs a little stuffy in the evening, but the rooms do have fans and windows that open to let in some fresh air.
As for location, the walk to the city center from the property takes only 10 to 15 minutes (depending on your speed), and a nearby tram stop makes trips to the train station quick and easy. In addition, the apartment sits in a lovely square with several cafes, bars, and restaurants all around the edges. Having spent the last few months heavily ensconced in life in Britain, it was a nice change to have a few days in the middle of a laid-back, French cafe culture. It was also great to get such good advice on the city and wine tasting excursions from the property owner, Ariele. She provided great tips and checked in with us frequently to make sure we had everything we needed for a good stay.
All in all, we couldn't have asked for a better temporary homebase. Thanks for all your help, Ariele! We can't wait to head back to Bordeaux and to this apartment!
