We just returned from a week's stay in Paris, and enjoyed the use of this apartment. Our group included my husband and myself, my father-in-law, and our two older kids/teens. I've only seen one other apartment in Paris in my life, and this rental was spacious by comparison (like NY and other big cities, I'm sure space is at a premium!). Anyway, the rental company was super responsive and very easy to work with. They arranged for someone to meet us upon arrival and quite early in the morning for our departure - both times their contact was right on time. The location of this apartment is excellent if you want to see the sites in central Paris (many spots - the Louvre, Notre Dame, etc. can be reached on foot (brisk pace) within a half-hour). Two metro stops are also very convenient as are a range of restaurants and a couple of grocery stores. One very positive aspect of this rental - even though the building (like most of Paris) does smell a bit smoky, the apartment itself is truly smoke-free (there is an air turnover unit that must do a terrific job). This made for a great retreat at the end of the day. In addition, there are heating units in each bedroom (great since we were there in winter), and the apartment was extremely clean and in great condition. There were only a few minor downsides:
--The kitchen isn't as well stocked as many American rentals (for example, you won't find basics like spices, oils, flour, tea, etc... aside from salt), but we made do and were able to enjoy breakfast every day in the room as well as a couple of dinners. Numerous bakeries are located nearby (try Paul!).
--We were missing a couple of pillowcases and had some trouble with the TV and dishwasher. They brought the pillowcases but we could never get the appliances to work. It wasn't a big deal b/c the wireless worked well and we didn't generate too many dishes, but I think including some instructions in at least French and English would be helpful for future renters.
--You can probably tell from the photos, but the showers are not large. I doubt this is unusual in Europe, but consider whether this might be an issue if you're above sort of an average size. Not a deal-breaker, but worth considering.
All in all, these were very minor issues, and we really enjoyed the use of the apartment!
