A Jolly/Murphy adventure 2014

4 of 5
A lovely place to stay! A warm welcome on arrival, and a very convenient situation for the metro. Just a very short amble up to the sacre coeur, the montmatre cafes, quirky little shops and bustling artist square too. The boys loved their pain au chocolates for breakfast from the local bakery and I was very impressed with the gluten free range available in the supermarket just down the main street! The flat was spotless and warm, the block was quiet and the other residents we bumped into were friendly. We had everything we could need and the kitchen was very well stocked and maintained (thank goodness for dishwashers!) The beds were comfortable and the shower room was very stylish. The shower had great water pressure which helped ease off the aches from all the walking! With 3 young boys, it was a blessing indeed to have a washing machine and a dryer to hand too! We spent 2 days in Paris and 2 days in Disneyland. The metro links to the train lines for the airport and the parks from the flat were great, with hardly any waiting, they were clean and frequent. All in all a great place to stay. I've already recommended it to family thinking of travelling to Paris next year! By the way, for gluten free cafes, take a trip to Biosphere and Noglu. They won't disappoint!

Wonderful, Large Parisian Apartment

5 of 5
My family stayed at 86 rue Damremont for a week. I recommend staying at the apartment without qualification. It was lovely, clean and well-appointed. And it had the features I wanted: tall ceilings, French windows in all the main rooms and a great view of a recently cleaned early 20th c. apartment building across the street. (After we filled a vase with fresh flowers, we felt very French.) One of the reasons we chose to stay here was the separation of bedrooms. We were traveling with our 23 year old son and wanted to maintain the degree of privacy we've come to expect at home. I would recommend the apartment for 2 couples or for friends traveling together. (One bedroom faces the street and one opens into a quiet inner court.) We loved the neighborhood, which is off the tourist track, and definitely recommend exploring the area. However, we were in Paris for the art. Luckily, the 95 bus and nearest metro took us directly to the rue de Rivoli. I should also mention how pleasant it was to correspond with the owners, Leah and Jon Kohn. They were responsive to our needs and figured out a way to provide access to the apartment when we arrived in the middle of the night. We plan to stay in their apartment in the future.

A home in Paris!

5 of 5
My parents and I were on a family trip to Paris and found just the place to feel right at home after long days spent enjoying the city. I have long been looking for a nice flat to return to whenever I visit my family's city of origin - and have indeed found it in this little jewel! All is as described, and more so. The only minus is the fact that the kitchen is quite small, and would be a bit difficult to use for elaborate meals. But for 3 people it was absolutely fine! The owners are very helpful and communicate promptly with their guests. Their helpers on site were also lovely. The flat is very well-maintained, and there is a nice home-made guide to all amenities so one never feels lost, should something not work. There is also a guide to Paris, and numerous guide books that are very handy for those who do not know the city well. The neighbourhood is full of shops, cafes, restaurants, two bakeries nearby and a lovely wine shop with superb collections of wine! And finally, the flat is very conveniently located - a metro line goes straight to the heart of Paris, just 5 minutes' walk away. All in all, a great experience, highly recommendable.
