The apartment is exactly as it looks in the pictures. Everything is clean and modern (refurbished in a characteristic old building). The apartment faces the back of the building into a courtyard of sorts, so it is off the street and quiet. I also appreciated that the windows opened... we had lots of fresh air. We loved the area too. The apartment is a few minutes walk from the Canal Saint-Martin, which in itself was lovely. But better, the area around the Canal was vibrant and packed with boulangeries, patisseries, epecieries selling fabulous cheeses and pates, fresh fruit and vegetable stores, boutiques and, of course, cafes. We liked that the area did not seem to be particularly touristy. On a Friday evening, the Canal was lined with people sitting in the sun after work, eating, drinking wine and beer and chatting with their friends. The Metro was a few blocks walk from the apartment, which easily takes you to all the tourist sites in Paris. Saving the best for last, the owner could not have been more congenial and helpful... and going beyond all expectations... I left my jacket in the closet, and the owner is sending it to me! To summarize, we certainly felt we got value for money. I would go back and definitely will recommend this apartment to my friends.
