Lovely Home

5 of 5
My family rented this home for a week in January. The owner responded to my inquiry and (many!) questions promptly. Payment for the unit was fast and secure. We had the damage deposit returned to our account by the time our plane landed back in the Midwest. This was nice, because we have rented from several people in the past that take weeks and reminders to have the damage deposit returned. This is our second visit to Angler's Reef in Islamorada. The first home we had only had the advantage that it was in the first tier and was closer to the pool. When we arrived, we realized this unit was very close to the pool as well. The kitchen was lovely and we cooked two meals a day in the home. It was helpful to have a washer and dryer in the unit to head home with clean clothes. We were most pleased that the home had a pack 'n play for our toddler. That is one of the first things I look for when viewing VRBO, because those with children know that traveling with that item is nearly impossible. The highlight of this condo was that it included two very nice kayaks. We took them out almost daily. The crowd at the resort is very friendly and we look forward to spending a week there again next January!

Beautiful stay

5 of 5
We had an awesome time on our vacation. The house was so nice, very comfortable. We had 4 adults and 4 kids and were so comfortable in the house. Felt like our home away from home. The house had two kayaks and we were able to go kayaking to see all the manatees in the canals. We would definetly consider staying here again.

December Stargazing Vacation

4 of 5
Myself and 3 friends stayed at this condo during December over the weekend of a major meteor shower. The weather was absolutely beautiful & the skies were very dark @ night to see the meteor shower. There were many things I really liked about this property & just a couple things that could be improved. First & foremost, the price was fantastic. I searched fervently for @ least a week to find a better deal with better accommodations & I couldn't. The condo includes 2 outrageously comfortable beds, which seem to be tempurpedic or something similar. I slept like a baby :). The sleeper sofa, however, is not easily accommodating for 2 more people. We fit 1 person on the sofa after removing the pillows & it seemed to work, but it was far less comfortable than the beds. I would advise only 4 people to this condo. Additionally, the kitchen & bathrooms were fully stocked with cooking utensils, laundry detergent, dish washer detergent, soap, pots, pans, dishes, & basics such as coffee, salt, pepper, sugar, etc. All the appliances, cooking items, & fixtures were brand new & in great condition. There were a couple things about the reno that I would caution future renters & the owner on. It seems there were some areas in which the renovators tried to cut corners. For instance, some of the molding around the cabinets was uneven & did not align, the fridge was slightly too big for the space it was in & would rub off the drywall each time it was opened, & the showers lacked adequate grout & caulking to prevent water leakage & could lead to mold issues. The showers also lacked good water pressure. Additionally, the water never heated past luke-warm. Despite this, what I loved most were the small touches that made the place feel like home. There were fluffy beach & bath towels, coffee & fish seasoning in the cupboards, board games & DVDs in the living room. The beds, washer/dryer, & smart TV were great. These little touches made the place feel like home away from home & definitely made me want to return & book here again. Also, Robert was very easy to work with & quick to answer phone calls and emails. This made our stay worry free & enjoyable. Finally, the location is great! Within 20 mins are snorkeling @ at state park, affordable paddle boarding, good fish houses, delicious key lime pie, & relatively good shopping. Overall if the showers were addressed, this place would be top-notch & worth well more than 5 stars. I highly recommend it for the price & location!
