Simply gorgeous

4 of 5
The house is one of the larger, more attractive homes on the Sunset Beach portion of Treasure Island. It has two residences, each with its own private garage and elevator -- handy when you first arrive, or after the first load-up trip to the nearby Publix. The pictures on the website are accurate. Everything is as described, and the view from the sitting area outside -- as well as from every west-facing room in the house -- is spectacular. The beach is relatively quiet compared to the more trafficked areas closer to the hotels and high-rises to the north, and to the south in St. Pete Beach. And it's also a very, very short distance from the home; other beachfront places we've stayed involve a longer hike to the sand. Thing we used: the great stereo, with speakers in the ceiling; the beach chairs, beach towels, beach umbrellas and a ball or two that were in the garage; the blender, for fruit smoothies; the top-notch kitchen, for preparing various meals; the gas grill, for one meal; the master bedroom shower, with an absurd number of ways to get wet. So why not five stars? Well, there were a few things less than perfect. The in-house computer would not connect to the wireless network, and it took a couple of days for management to fix the problem. (The wireless worked fine for the various devices our family brought with us.) The air blower on the hot tub worked intermittently (basically for five minutes, and then it would not work for several hours). And a more minor issue: one of the three bedrooms is very, very dark. It had one small table lamp; we moved a table lamp from another room. Still dark, but better. Might want to add a more powerful lamp to that room.

Pleasant clean cottage near St Pete Beach

4 of 5
My husband and I enjoyed staying in this small cottage in a quiet residential neighborhood. We liked the location, especially that it was only about 2.5 miles from the beach, and also conveniently close to pharmacy, grocery stores and the artsy village of Gulfport. Everything was provided for our stay including lounge chairs, and the owner was very helpful when a minor repair was needed. It was great to have a grill for cooking fresh seafood, and also to have a washer and dryer close at hand as part of the rental. I would recommend this property, particularly to a married couple. Downtown St Petersburg is only minutes away, and we enjoyed the wonderful waterfront farmer's market, excellent museums and restaurants!

Very, very nice

5 of 5
We stayed for a month and enjoyed every day. The condo is exactly as described in the listing, with the exception of the glass top table shown in the kitchen. When we were there the table top matched the counters. The property was very clean and well supplied. The kitchen is fully supplied with plates, silverware and glassware. Bathroom towels are very large and there are multiple sets. I would be hard pressed to list something that is needed. This unit is on the second floor and the elevator is just outside the front door. This is not a problem as there are only 2 units per floor, and only 3 floors. We used the stairs most of the time. The building is very quiet. Parking is covered and out of the weather. The location of this condo is perfect. Beach access to the Gulf is across the street, with a cross walk adjacent to the building. Sitting on the balcony allows for a view of the bay and inter-coastal. Dolphins can be viewed while sitting out of the effects of the sun. The balcony overlooks the pool as well, and residents can sit around numerous tables poolside. The grocery store is less than a block away (2 or 3 minute walk). We walked to restaurants as well. The full security deposit was returned very promptly. This condo is very, very nice. I would recommend it without hesitation. Be sure to walk to the beach on Sunday just before sunset for the 'drumming in of the sunset'. A large collection of people, drums and dancing. ENJOY!
