I can't ever remember feeling the way I did about a vacation, as when I first arrived at this amazing place. We drove down a quaint tree-lined street, only to find our own paradise for a week. This property is gated, and has gorgeous tropical landscaping from the gated entrance all the way back to waterfront. The property is big, and PRIVATE. I didn't know places like this existed in the St. Pete/Clearwater area. Behind the gated entrance, there is plenty of parking under palm trees or in the massive garage. It takes you away - you instantly feel like a celebrity or diplomat in an elegant private compound. When you enter the home and pull open the shades, you see what has to be one of the biggest views in the area: across miles of Boca Ciega bay all the way to John's Pass and the Gulf of Mexico.
The teenagers loved the pool, spa and everyone tried the kayaks. When we felt like venturing away the house, the teens enjoyed the John's Pass restaurants and activities (we realized we can see these from the house, across the bay, which was cool). We went to the public beaches in Treasure Island and St Pete Beach. One day, the ladies enjoyed the spa at the Don Cesar. One night, we went to downtown St. Pete, which has kind of a Miami Beach feel. Everything was easy to reach.
The inside was every bit as beautiful as the photos. The lucky couple got the upstairs Master suite, which takes up the entire top floor. The lower Master suite is smaller, but very comfortable and quiet. Everyone was very comfortable.
Throughout the day, we saw porpoises and birds feeding off the abundant fish. We didn't try fishing, but a local said the fishing is great, and sometimes Manatees cruise the waters. Every once in a while, a tour boat came by, validating the fact that we were in someplace very special. Thanks to the owner for sharing this amazing place with us. We WILL be back!
