Disney Worlkd First Choice Home

5 of 5
We have been going to Disney World for almost 30 years, first with our kids and now with our grandkids, we usually go 2 to 3 times a year. We have stayed in most of the Disney Resorts but prefer now to stay in homes in the Formosa Gardens area. We have stayed at Winsor Palms, Rolling Hills, Emerald Island,Oak Island and Sunset Lakes. Of all these areas we prefer Sunset Lakes, because of its location, size, and design. Most of the homes there have unobstructed lake views and do not feel as enclosed and overlooked as other developments. So your home is our first choice when we go to Disney. The listing was accurate, property clean and well maintained. The owner was very help full as well as the management company. The children enjoyed the pool extremely as well as the games room. Would recommend this home highly.

Best Place We've Stayed In On Sunset Lakes, But...

4 of 5
This is a great choice for anyone looking to stay in Sunset Lakes. We've stayed in 5 homes and spent about five weeks total in the area, and this is the best we've seen so far. It's on the north side of the lake--and the north side is the place to be. The sun (at least in December) hits the pool all day, unlike the south side where the pool gets no sun in the daytime due to the angle of the sun & shadows. Plus this is a ranch, which is MUCH better than the two-story homes on the lake. The big houses may look nice but they are impossible to heat/cool consistently and they're very noisy. This ranch is quiet and the temp was consistent throughout. THE GOOD: The best thing about this place is the large amount of carpeting. Most houses on Sunset Lakes have tile throughout. This one has a big carpeted living room/dining room, making it warm and cozy. The furnishings are nice (the living room furniture is newer than the photos and different from it). It has a masculine feel, very classy. The flat-screen TV in the living room is large and in a entertainment center with doors that close--very nice! The TV channel selection is great with a couple hundred cable choices and on demand channels. Wish there were a DVR, but there were more options here than most places we've rented. The kitchen has a new fridge and dishwasher that are beautiful. There's a huge long driveway in front and it's near the end of a cul-de-sac so you won't have traffic. THE BAD: The carpet is filthy and has huge stains--it needs to be replaced ASAP. It's shocking that such a nice home has suck tacky, ugly carpeting. There's also a smell in the living room (from the wood? or the odd art?). The pool area has a child fence in front of it--which detracts from the view. This still uses a key box and since the front door lights were burned out we couldn't see the key box! Why don't they use a modern coded lock on the door handle? (BTW, there were a number of lights in the house that were burned out.) There's nothing for kids here, it needs games, crib/stroller, & a kids room. The kitchen isn't fully stocked & needs some basic cooking items. The garage has washer/dryer but was really messy. And it's overpriced for the size compared to others, plus the booking group is out of town so hard to communicate with. But we would stay here again--we loved the location & how it felt like home.

Our Favorite Disney Home

5 of 5
We've stayed in several vrbo homes near Disney, but once we stayed in this one for the first time in 2013, we won't stay anywhere else! We have two young kids (7 and 6). Our biggest priority is that we have a clean, quiet place to relax after a long day at Disney. This home is exceptionally clean, in a safe and quiet neighborhood. The kitchen is stocked with everything we could possibly need. It's closer to the park than anywhere else we've ever stayed, and there are grocery stores in close proximity (Super Target is my personal favorite). As a mom of young kids, I particularly appreciate the full-size washer and dryer in the laundry room. We've stayed in VRBOs before where things are kept only to a minimal level of usability, and this home is the complete opposite -- it's obvious that the owners update and invest in it. One of our favorite things about this home is the backyard pool. This year, we stayed during December and when Debbie mentioned that we could pay a small amount extra for pool heat, I was honestly skeptical, but opted to try it. I'm so glad we did!! The weather the week we were there was also unusually cool, with highs some days in the low to mid 60s. I was absolutely shocked to discover when we got there that the pool was actually WARM. And let me be clear -- my Texan kids do not swim if it's remotely cold, and our entire family loved swimming in this heated pool. It was so nice to return from a long and sometimes drizzly and cold day at Disney to a warm pool to relax in. (Note: We kept it covered when we weren't using it, which I'm sure helped). Working with Debbie could not be easier -- she's completely on top of things, and will answer all of your questions quickly. You absolutely cannot go wrong staying in this home.
