Great place to relax and enjoy the Gulf Coast!

5 of 5
My Wife and I brought our 2 teenage kids here for a week of scalloping and fishing. She loved the house, and the beach decor, me I could care less..but it has plenty of room to park a boat, easy access to water and electric, and a separate screened in area to clean fish and scallops was a huge bonus. Also, there is a separate 1 bed guesthouse to park the kids and get them out of your hair for a while. Steinhatchee is a small town, there is no Publix, or Winn Dixie, but there is a Dollar General and a small grocery store at a gas station nearby, so you might want to stock up before you go. The boat ramp is less than a mile away, and its a 5 min boat ride to the Sea Hag Marina which has all the bait, tackle, and local information that you need. All I did was buy a bag of ice and they told us exactly where to go out to the Gulf to find the scallops. We found scallops, trout and redfish within a short ride out to the flats. Our week was capped off by a great dinner at Fiddler's Restaurant, they cooked up our catch family style and it was some of the best seafood I have ever had ($12 each was so worth it!) All in all, it was a great trip, the kids were not as impressed, but teenage boys are hard to please. There just is not a lot for them to do in such a small town after you get off the water. Looking forward to coming back next year!
