I'm hesitant to even write about how wonderful this place is - I wish we could keep it to ourselves!
The home itself is beautiful. It is well-appointed, well thought out, and everything about it is set up for maximum comfort and relaxation.
And the area - wow. Just a short bike ride or stroll away is a beach where you can see alligators hunting, horseshoe crabs, conchs, hermit crabs, skates, and so many other animals (we hoped to see a bear, but didn't. Maybe next year!). I've read that this part of Florida has one of the highest levels of biodiversity in the country, and after this trip, I believe it. Go teach your kids about nature, and rediscover it yourself. (Do bring your bug spray & long pants/sleeves for evenings)
The facilities at Summer Camp are wonderful as well- the pool is lovely, the restaurant is yummy and reasonably priced, and all the locals who work there are friendly and helpful.
Nearby, check out St. Georges Island for an amazing beach, and Wakulla Springs for a chance to see manatees hanging out in the river.
I just wish we didn't have to wait so long to return! Thanks for a great time!
