Nice location - a bit long in the tooth

4 of 5
The Good: -Awesome location - right on the beach! You open the sliding front door and there's a short path to the beach. That beach is nice as it's close enough to places like Don Cesar yet far enough away from the crowds. -Easy parking -A/C works fine (I note this as another reviewer had issues) -Kept relatively clean -Beds are really nice - slept very well -Good enough space to live, eat and relax (though it does only have one bathroom) The Not-so-Good: -The patio in front is prime real-estate, yet it's poorly maintained. Mismatched plastic chairs, old small tables and a run-down floor makes this space a strange waste. Why not get it cleaned up, re-paved and put in some nice, outdoor furniture? It would increase the value immensly. I would gladly pay more for that kind of space. -No screen for the sliding glass door to the ocean. Disappointing as you can't get those ocean breezes without inviting the mosquitos in. -No fan in the only bathroom. Not so good in the Florida heat and humidity. The A/C either doesn't reach the bathroom or is just ineffective there. -One of the bedrooms is right next to the patin and the grill. As they rent both eh top and bottom parts of the house separately, I guess everyone has access to the patio. The only probably is the people upstairs decided to have a party / BBQ late at night. They were right next to my 6 year old daughter trying to get some sleep - not a good situation. Be mindful that this is a lower unit and that anyone staying in the upper unit will be walking by your bedroom windows to either go to the patio or to the beach. I gave it 4 stars because it is what it is: A small beach house that needs a bit of renovating, which is pretty much what I had expected and paid for.

execellent vacation

5 of 5
We had a great time the house was beautiful close to everything. The neighbors were very nice. John and Lou seemed like very nice people to deal with. We went to the blues fest in downtown St Petersburgh. Also went fishing on the gulf. Visited lots of the local hangouts. Would stay again. Looking forward to next April

Amazing, Amazing, Amazing!!!!!!

5 of 5
Amazing!!! This house had everything we could ask for! We had 9 adults and 3 children and lots of room to spare. Every bedroom was able to view the beautiful sunrise in the morning. We were able to fish off the dock and caught enough fish (mostly sheep head) to fry and eat as a meal. The nights were amazing as well. The full moon shining on the intercoastal was spectacular. The owners Bobbie and Christine were very helpful. We only went to the beach a couple times which is about a mile away. The pool/jacuzzi and spacious lounging area outside were all we needed. Thank you Bobbie and Christine for the best vacation our family has experienced ever!!!
