Was the listing description accurate regarding the location, layout, amenities, etc?
It really was beautiful and peaceful. There was no motorized dinghy nor were we able to light the fire table in the outdoor lounge area, but we did not miss these. Otherwise, what you see is what you get. Even the Great Heron "George." Every morning. The interior pictures do not reveal how cramped the living area can feel with a big (NEW) fridge right beside the leather couch. It is also quite dark inside because the living room window opens to a shared parking area and we preferred privacy and darkness. But it was nice returning to great air conditioning and dark after time out in the bright.
Was the property clean and well-maintained?
The property was very well maintained. Lots of clean towels, sheets. Spotless surfaces and dishes. Exterior cleaners kept the outdoor spaces immaculate. Nice!
Did the owner or manager provide good customer service?
The manager was very friendly and helped us catch fish. However we sometimes felt like we were being watched as we enjoyed the exterior space. It wasn't creepy...but it also didn't feel private.
Would you recommend this property to a friend or relative?
We were very frustrated one night when the upstairs rental tenants partied until midnight because the sound transmitted clearly down to us. As I said, it is not private. But you can't beat the access to boating in the Intracoastal, the walking access to grocery store and dinner options, and two mile access to good beaches. Yes, we would recommend it for families no larger than four.
What activities, attractions and restaurants did you enjoy?
We jet-skied at Frenchy's about a mile from the home. Excellent access! Beaches in Pass-a-Grille were our favorites because they were removed from huge hotels and felt natural. We shopped at St. John's pass a few miles north. Bait shop south on Gulf Ave. near Publix. Trust YELP reviews of restaurants. Most offered "Grouper Sandwiches." We thought Dockside Dave's was best.
