Miss Captain's Lounge already!

5 of 5
My family including our three dogs loved staying at Captain's Lounge! This property is listed very accurately, and we really could not have expected anything better! We loved the view of the bay, being able to walk just a couple minutes away to eat at Black Marlin's restaurant. We took our bikes and were able to explore the whole island by the end of the week. The house was very nice and clean. Like I have read in other reviews, there are a lot of steps, and the only time that really became an issue was with my dad's elderly Jack Russell who just wasn't fond of going up and down the steps to go outside so my dad would have to carry her. Other than that, the steps were a non-issue. St. George Island is a wonderful place to spend vacation! The State Park is beautiful, however, it is really beneficial to have bikes when you visit so that you can take a trip down to the end. My husband and I also went canoeing there one day. We love it, and are already beachsick. Very pleased with our stay at the beautiful Captains Lounge, the owners are very easy to work with! Thank you!

Extraordinary!

5 of 5
Heron Now soared beyond our expectations for an ideal vacation getaway on St. George Island. The setting was ideal with a gorgeous view of a quiet lagoon connecting to Apalachicola Bay and easy access to the bayside or gulfside beach and the bayside nature preserve, which we explored several times during our week-long stay. The home itself was perfectly sized, exceptionally comfortable, tastefully appointed and immaculately clean. Its bookshelf was well stocked with appropriate resources for exploring the natural, cultural and historical aspects of the region, and its kitchen has all the utensils needed for making the most of coastal cuisine opportunities. We extend high marks also to the owners, Edward and Robin Schroering, for their helpfulness and responsiveness from day one. We definitely intend to make Heron Now our home away from home on what we hope will be more frequent future visits to St. George Island.

Beautiful House, Great Location & Amazing Price

5 of 5
We stayed 5 nights in this beautiful, well taken care of, private, well stocked home . It was obviously cleaned well, and had very nice, comfortable living room furniture. I loved the curtains and rod in the living room. The house was very well maintained, especially considering it is pet friendly. I loved the open concept layout on the upper level where the main living area is. I also loved that there was a bathroom for each bedroom. The linens were high quality and luxurious. The beds were comfortable. The walk in shower is gorgeous, and the balconies off each level offer a beautiful view. The setting was much more private than some of the other homes in the immediate area. Having a private pool was also a lot of fun. I thought it was very considerate of the owners to keep it well stocked with board games, puzzles, magazines, dvds, etc. It was also nice that there were basic cooking supplies, like oil and spices and the kitchen was so well stocked with pots and pans and dishes, and with the dishwasher it made it so easy! The owners were very nice and we had no problems with access information or with getting through the gate. As far as activities, we loved driving over to Apalachicola and shopping in all the little shops and experimenting with different restaurants. Caroline's River Dining had a great view off the screened deck and our dog was welcome too. On the island there weren't a lot of options for breakfast during the week, but the Beach Pit was decent for breakfast and the BBQ was great for dinner, the Brunswick stew was awesome. I would definitely recommend this house to my friends and family.
