Recent St George Island Reviews

Week at the beach

5 of 5
Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The condo is very clean and spacious for a two bedroom. It is stocked with a good selection of dinnerware, utensils, pots, and pans. Only negative was that the internet access was out our last two days. We loved the second story porch facing the ocean where we could watch the sunrise while eating breakfast. Its a two minute walk to the beautiful and not crowded beach (at least in early April). They allow dogs on the beach so our puppy loved running around in the sand and the waves. SGI is an easy place to be on vacation; we could ride our bikes quickly to the market or to get ice cream. All in all a wonderful vacation.

We hadn't been to St. George Island for 20 years...

5 of 5
We hadn't been to St. George Island for 20 years; and what I remembered most about that trip was sitting on an empty beach and watching dolphins play in the surf. We again had an opportunity to return to St. George Island, this time with our 2 1/2 year old son. The first day we walked out onto an empty beach, and again saw dolphins playing in the surf. It was wonderful and relaxing, and it seemed as though this part of Florida hadn't changed much at all. The Little Palm beach house was a big part of what made our trip special. The house was beautifully decorated, but in a very comfortable way. And there were little labels in some key places to help guests remember how to take care of the house (e.g., "No grease down the drain, this is a septic", and "This door needs an extra push" on the French double-door refrigerator, and "Turn off the lights at night for the sea turtles"). It made us smile. The open floor plan also helped us keep tabs on our little one, and gave us a great view of the beach from the porch. I'm sure there is a load of stuff to do on St. George... but all we did was enjoy the beach and cook in. If you're looking to just hang out at the beach, and return to a comfortable, well-appointed home in the evening to cook dinner and share stories, Little Palm is a great option.

Most memorable vacation

5 of 5
My family and I visited the Palms on multiple occasions. Any time of the year, the experience is marvelous. During our recent visit in January we were escorted by dolphins on our kayaking trip. What could be more magnificent? The bikes provided by the house provided for great afternoon bike rides to the island's center. The one minute walk to the beach made watching sunrises on the beach easy. The island is a magical place and we The Palms provides great opportunities to experience all of it.
