November week at St. George

5 of 5
My husband and I attended the Seafood Festival in Apalachicola and decided to stay the following week on St. George Island. We chose ARRR Beach House because of its bedding and bathroom options. The house was just as pictured if not better. We were very pleased with the location and enjoyed sunrises/sunsets on the widows walk. We found November to be a very quiet time on the island and while we would have enjoyed a couple more warmer days we were not disappointed in the weather. We did not dine on the island but chose to make the drive a few nights into Apalachicola. We especially enjoyed happy hour at the Owl Tap Room. We were very pleased with everything that the ARRR Beach House had to offer and would consider staying there again on any return trips to the island.

We hadn't been to St. George Island for 20 years...

5 of 5
We hadn't been to St. George Island for 20 years; and what I remembered most about that trip was sitting on an empty beach and watching dolphins play in the surf. We again had an opportunity to return to St. George Island, this time with our 2 1/2 year old son. The first day we walked out onto an empty beach, and again saw dolphins playing in the surf. It was wonderful and relaxing, and it seemed as though this part of Florida hadn't changed much at all. The Little Palm beach house was a big part of what made our trip special. The house was beautifully decorated, but in a very comfortable way. And there were little labels in some key places to help guests remember how to take care of the house (e.g., "No grease down the drain, this is a septic", and "This door needs an extra push" on the French double-door refrigerator, and "Turn off the lights at night for the sea turtles"). It made us smile. The open floor plan also helped us keep tabs on our little one, and gave us a great view of the beach from the porch. I'm sure there is a load of stuff to do on St. George... but all we did was enjoy the beach and cook in. If you're looking to just hang out at the beach, and return to a comfortable, well-appointed home in the evening to cook dinner and share stories, Little Palm is a great option.

One of our favorite SGI vacations!

5 of 5
We have been coming to SGI for about 20 yrs. and have stayed in many different houses from East End to Plantation. This was one our favorite vacations! The house was super comfortable. Nothing fancy about it, but had everything you need. Our men and teenage boys were there to fish. The fishing was great. The folks at Jolly Roger were so accommodating to all our needs. A golf art was there waiting on us and at our request brought kayaks for the guys to fish from. Jolly Roger also set them up with Captain Richard for some night flounder gigging. They were very successful and we came home with a cooler of fish. We hated to leave and will definitely plan our next visit with them. I think I enjoyed staying on the bay as much, if not more than the beach. The beach is a very short distance by golf cart.
