I have stayed in hotels and rental units all over America; Europe and the Caribbean but this tops them all. The listing is 100% accurate. I visit South Beach at least once each year. I have found my new home with this unit. I enjoy South Beach but I have stayed there and wouldn't do so again. The price gouging; tourists and the college kids caused me to look up the beach. I am so glad I did.
The Casablanca is on the ocean. I had a direct view of the ocean. Imagine waking up to a gentle breeze coming off the ocean as you gaze out over the ocean from your bed. I could not be happier. My batteries got re-charged here and I owe it all to Alex and his lovely wife for offering up such a wonderful unit at an affordable price.
The building is at 63rd and Collins Ave. The buses stop at 63rd and Collins if you are going north to Aventura. The buses stop at 63rd and Harding (one block away) if you want to venture to South Beach. $2.25.
I discovered wonderful restaurants with local flavors and local residents just a few blocks north on Collins. I was able to purchase all the things I needed to stay for 10 days within but a few blocks of the Casablanca.
My unit had Tommy Bahama (solid/comfy) beach chairs in the unit. Not the flimsy cheap stuff. There was a beach umbrella. A room safe. A walk-in shower. Stove. Fridge. Big flat screen TV. Comfy bed. Clean linens. There are washer/dryers on the floor you can do a load in each for $1.25. The front desk provides change.
The owner Alex stopped by the unit to check on me and I got to meet him. His lovely wife let me into the unit to start. It was a breeze.
Fly into Ft. Lauderdale and grab one of the share-ride limos. Cost me $21 to get to the Casablanca and took mere minutes. When I went home, I rote the bus that picked me up in front of the hotel - cost me $2.75. Seriously.
I don't know what else I can say but thank you, thank you, thank you. I promise, I will return and I will stay longer. This is the best deal I have had in my 60 years of life.
