First and foremost, I was impressed with the owners and their responsiveness. My inquiry was responded to within hours and they were very easy to work with. The condo is very well maintained and has most of what you could need.
A few minor things that could help is a drying rack for your beach towels as there is no washer or dryer in the condo. Also, the water pressure in the shower is very weak. I mentioned it to the property manager and she said that they would have it examined. Not a big deal but could be better. It was great that there were beach chairs, toys etc. Also, when we arrived, there were no paper towels or napkins. Again - not a big deal but would have expected at least one roll of paper towels.
The distance to the beach is a bit farther than I expected. When I asked how far of a walk it was, I was told about 150 yards. This is accurate if you drive to one of the public access parking areas. However, we ended up walking across the street and down the private access road which is about a .3 of a mile walk. This was only an issue as my mom had recently had foot surgery.
The beaches were all unique - we went to Turtle beach, Crescent beach (the one closest to the condo) and Siesta Beach. Turtle beach - darker sand but much bigger shells. Crescent beach - closest to condo but water has a bit of a sulfur odor during low tide. I was told it had to do with the brackish water. Not bothersome but slightly noticeable. Siesta beach is enormous and absolutely beautiful. The softest white sand I've ever seen or felt. Not as many shells but the sand was just amazing.
We used the pool at the complex once. It was clean and water warm.
Restaurants - went to Captain Curts - decent food; Check out the Orange Octupus Ice Cream shop in same shopping area. Yummy ice cream.
Ate at Salty Dog in Sarasota - fun for kids. Food ok.
Overall, it was a great trip to a beautiful place. The condo worked great for us, good location, reasonably price and updated. Appreciated the management and their timeliness. Would definitely consider renting again.
