Wow -- we were amazed by the water and beach views as soon as we walked through the front door. You can see miles and miles of beautiful beach and blue green water. You can hear the waves crashing on the beach and watch the porpoises swim by from the balcony.
The large balcony was a superb location to watch the water with our first cup of coffee in the morning before heading to the beach. We have never seen such white, clean and soft sand as on Siesta Key's Crescent Beach. We loved walking the beach each morning and swimming in the gentle surf when we got back home. The numerous cabanas, ample beach chairs and lounges plus the very friendly other guests made this a wonderful beach experience. It was everything I dreamed of.
The garden area with the beach front pool, in-ground Jacuzzi, natural gas BBQ grills and private areas to relax were absolutely fantastic. We ate lite lunches around the pool and garden areas and soaked in the entire beautiful beach experience.
The south bridge restaurants, shops and bar area was better than we expected and was less than a mile from Horizons West. We enjoyed two nice restaurants there. Siesta Key Village to the north about two miles was fantastic -- plenty of good restaurants (more than we had time to try), lively beach bars and interesting shops. We enjoyed the long walk along the beach to the Village a couple of times and caught one of the free (just tips) "golf" cart shuttles back to the apartment -- it was fun.
The apartment was amazing -- great kitchen, big open living areas, huge private balcony, stunning bathrooms and plenty of amenities: Wi-Fi internet, large flat screen TVs, Bose radio, reserved carport parking and a VERY friendly staff. We sat on the couch and couldn't decide if we wanted to watch TV or just soak in the beach and water views.
Do not miss the sunsets over the water from 404's balcony, from the garden area or the beach. Those sunsets will keep us young and returning to our new beach place.
Overall, a truly wonderful beach experience that we will enjoy each and every year. We have found "our place" on "our beach."
