Excellent amenities for a month on Sanibel

5 of 5
The view. Wow. From the moment we arrived, we were drawn to the view out of the huge picture windows. The bay provided ever-changing scenery. Dolphins, pelicans, jumping fish, sunrises and sunsets...something we miss now that we are gone! The home's elevator was handy for bringing groceries up from the garage. The pool/hot tub provided many hours of entertainment for our family and visiting guests. We brought our own kayaks/paddle boards and enjoyed the convenience of being right on the beach. Our kids fished and caught a tarpon and a shark as well as some smaller fish. There are many puzzles in the home which we completed. The home does show some wear (paint/carpet) BUT it was CLEAN and we felt more at home with the wear because of that especially since we brought our dog with us. The location is perfect. Just a short walk to Pinocchio's for ice cream and also the lighthouse. You don't have to fight traffic to get on and off the island due to the location of the home. Only thing I would recommend is for you to bring your own coffee pot if you are used to a Keurig or Bunn. (Their pot makes good coffee...it just takes a long time to do so. ) Beds were comfy. There are at least 3 twin size air beds for your use in addition to the 1 King, 3 Qn, and one twin. The mother in law suite was an interesting setup as it had a QN bed in the bedroom but in the bathroom suite area there was also a twin bed. Would recommend this home, wish I could go back SOON!

Best home rental on Sanibel

5 of 5
We have rented several homes on Sanibel and this home is the nicest, most well equipped home with a five minute walk to the beach. The pool and lenai areas are beautiful. The bed arrangements are better then most rentals -- Kings in 2 bedrooms and large beds in the third. Every guest will be comfortable in this roomy unit

Best Location on Island

5 of 5
It may be spring in Ohio, but we miss our favorite place on Sanibel. This guesthouse, hidden on a lush corner across from Bowman's Beach, was the idyllic location for a relaxing visit to the island. It was only a few minutes from everything we like to do. We loved riding our bikes to Sunset Grill for delicious breakfasts, then pedaling to Bowman's Beach for afternoons of hunting shells, watching the dolphin, and soaking up the sun. Many evenings we packed a picnic and walked back to the beach to see the beautiful sunsets. Because the guesthouse (with its wonderful owner) was located on the peaceful west end of the island, we felt as if we were living in paradise, not staying at a tourist destination. When we did want to go to the theater, the golf course, the art show, or the refuge, we didn't have to get tangled up in island traffic. Matter-of-fact, we could actually pick up a lot of groceries & supplies at the Santiva General Store right down the road. We also had a lot of fun watching the Super Bowl with friends at the popular Doc Ford's restaurant, which is really close to the guesthouse. We would definitely recommend this charming rental to other island lovers. It has everything you need and is located in the perfect place. I can't believe I'm saying this -- but I'm looking forward to winter and our next visit to this tropical treasure:)
