Recent Sanibel Island Reviews

Bella of the Sanibel island.

5 of 5
It was one of our best vacations ever. The house was immaculately clean, very warm and inviting. It is kind of those houses where you feel home the minute you walk in. It has a great personality to it, unlike standard vacation rentals that all look the same. Sanibella is great for families and is also couples who want to enjoy themselves in a beautiful and serene environment. It is located a few minutes of walk from the beach which was a great plus for us. It is very close to several restaurants that serve amazing food. There is a little lake right in front of the house that houses two baby alligators and a bunch of turtles. My kids could not wait for the morning to run to the lake. My husband and I toured the island on bicycles that were part of many extra bonuses this house provided. We usually purchase a few things when we rent houses in Florida and have to leave them behind. This house was an exception because it was well stocked with everything vacationers need. We didn't have to purchase anything for the beach. Instead of running from the store to the store we just enjoyed our vacation. Oh, I have to mention those beds. They are so comfy you wouldn't want to get up in the morning.

One of the loveliest properties we have stayed in

5 of 5
We have vacationed on Captiva and Sanibel for the last 20 years and this was one of the best properties in which we have stayed. Lovely, secluded location but with easy access to Bowmans Beach and the restaurants on both Sanibel and Captiva. The house is exactly as shown in the pictures; modern, exceptionally clean, really comfortable and well stocked (and bug free). We travelled with our two teenage children and the screened pool gave us plenty of room to relax outside and the indoors layout allowed us to spread out indoors, too. The gopher tortoise made several appearances. The provision of an XBox and Xfinity were great additions as were the bikes. The owners, Caroline and Des, are really helpful and have put a lot of thought into making visitors feel welcome. We are very grateful to them for being able to share their property. We would thoroughly recommend Dinkins Cottage to anyone - provided it didn't interfere with our chances of being able to come back again!

The perfect home away in a great location!

5 of 5
This home is secluded and private and an easy walk to the beach. The pool was wonderful to return to after an afternoon of shelling on the beach. It has a great floor layout with 2 private master suites and 2 bedrooms with 2 twin beds each. Lots of room to spread out. It had everything we needed. There were bikes of various sizes and we enjoyed many bike rides during our stay. If we were to ever return to Sanibel, we would choose this property again! The owner quickly responded to any questions or issues. Our only problem was with internet and cell phone coverage. The internet connection was not secure and it seemed everyone in the area was using it. It was very difficult to access internet. We ended up getting a Verizon hotspot of our own. We use T Mobile for our cell phone carrier and their service was very spotty on the island. If you have Verizon it is no problem.
