Exceeded our expectations

4 of 5
My husband and I stayed here on our first trip to Sanibel Island over the summer. We had just moved into a brand new house and needed to get away from it all to the most low key place imaginable. This place was perfect. It was quiet, peaceful and stocked with just about everything you could imagine that you would need. It was about a 5-8 minute walk on foot to the Beach, much faster on bike. The complex is super quiet, we practically had the pool to ourselves most days. It was great to have a fully equipped kitchen, and the lanai was a wonderful thing to have. We sat out there and had lunch on it everyday. We loved that anything we would need for the beach was provided to us in the unit. It was truly a wonderful place to stay and the owner was wonderful and pleasant to deal with. We will definitely return again.

Reminds me of Old Florida

5 of 5
Sanibel reminds me of my childhood vacations in Florida (before hi-rise hotels and over-development). This cottage is a classic beach house, but it's bright with lots of windows and a cheery decor. The location is a couple blocks from the best shelling beach. The bike trail is right across the street. Who needs a car? The house is well-maintained and well-supplied with all you need. It's big enough to have the kids and grandkids (for a weekend) especially with a warm pool. The owner is very good about answering all questions immediately! Yes, I would recommend it to friends who are tired of condo living - it's quiet and private. Though there are many restaurants nearby, we enjoy our own cooking. We recommend the Shell Museum, the kayak trail in Ding Darling, all the bike trails and of course, collecting shells.

Amazing and hidden gem

5 of 5
This property is amazing and it feels like a home away from home. Everything was decorated very nicely and upscale beach cottage style. We had everything you could ask for and more at this property. Sharon the property manager was a dream and even arranged a private shelling/boat trip for us with one of the best captains in the area.We were picked up like royalty right at the little dock on the back of the property. The kitchen has everything you need for cooking everyday with nice appliances. There are flat screen TVs everywhere and the shower is a double shower so tow can go in at one and get clean. There is a washer and dryer in the place as well. The gem of a cottage is right at blind pass, the best place to shell and it take less than 30 seconds to cross the street and be on the beach. We had a perfect stay at Lazy hideaway and I cannot say enough nice things about the property and the management. We even saw a rare bobcat there! Thank you again Sharon for being the perfect hostess.
