My wife and I and our two small dogs just finished our week's stay at the Sand Castle. For us a visit to the beach is all about being right on the ocean and having a screened-in porch off the main living area on which to read and eat meals while enjoying the sights, sounds, and scent of the ocean protected from sun, rain, and bugs. The screened-in porch at Sand Castle didn't really lend itself to that.
One or two additional negatives: As noted the mattress in the master bedroom is too soft for most, the kitchen could have more pots, pans, and miscellaneous utensils for those who like to cook, and the carpets are badly stained in some places. There are some areas of the house that could use some touching up. That the house is on the market might explain some of this.
Now the considerable good. Sand Castle is perched on a cliff overlooking gorgeous water and clean, powdery white sand, with easy beach access via stairs. The living area has comfortable furnishings. Other amenities such as the televisions, WiFi, and HVAC work well. Once we discovered the large available umbrella, the outdoor deck became very usable for us. We didn't try the hot tub, but the day we left, the hot tub was receiving routine maintenance.
We suspect most renters will very much enjoy their stay.
