Everything we Expected

5 of 5
We arrived on the Saturday evening and when we had parked the car we were given the key at reception and directed to the apartment on the 11th floor. The photographs are very accurate. There are two balconies to sit outside in the evening. If it is breezy on one, then try the other! The views are fantastic. In the apartment is a large bedroom/living area, a fully equipped kitchenette and a bathroom/shower room. The apartment is nicely decorated and is very clean. The bed is very comfortable and we enjoyed a good night's sleep every night. The beach is 5 minutes walk away, or if you wish to go into Miami there is a bus stop right outside the building with regular services to South Beach and Downtown. We opted to eat in most nights and did our shopping at Publix just 3 or 4 blocks north on Collins Ave. (Be careful going to Publix at rush hour as their car park can be extremely busy!) We didn't meet Elaine, but she was very responsive whenever we had any queries, and she offered advice on things to do and places to go while we were there. We had a very enjoyable two weeks here and would not hesitate return next time we are in the area.

Perfect place to relax in Miami.

5 of 5
I, my husband and our two daughters stayed here for 11 days and it was a memorable stay. Comfortable and provided everything necessary for living apartment is located in a prime location - in the heart of the so-called quiet, but still within walking distance - perfect beach, playground, cafes, shops, including food (small next to the house and a little further Publex) . The presence of an underground garage (parking fee is already included in the price of renting an apartment) - a huge plus: the machine is always at hand and protected from the sun heat. All photos are true. From the balcony we enjoyed the view of the ocean. Great place to relax complement: a heated swimming pool, jacuzzi, fully equipped kitchen and all the little things provided by the lessor for the rest, who made sure that on arrival you will not worry about such seemingly small, but at the same time very necessary household appliances: dishwashing detergents, paper towels, salt, sugar (avid travelers know that the purchase of all these little things on holiday takes not so much money, how much precious time of rest). Landlord - Val attentive, sociable and always connected. We will definitely recommend this place to relax all your friends and acquaintances, as well as travelers who now make their choice.

Beautiful Resort - Great Oceanfront Location

4 of 5
This is our second visit to Pelican Grand beach Resort and second time renting this unit. We had the same expectations as we did in 2013 not seeing anything different on the owner's site. There are a few changes to the in-room amenities that were not noted. You are now charged $19.95 per day per device that you connect to the internet because you are in an owner's suite vs. a hotel suite where internet is free. There is no soap or shampoo provided as there was last year. According to the hotel, this amenity stopped as of Feb 2014. It was just enough to get you through the first day or two, but something should be noted so renters are aware. Also we were not able to view in-room movies or access the hotel restaurant and in-room dining menus on the television, again because we not renting directly from the hotel. These issues are minor, however when you have the same expectations from the year before you are a bit disappointed and the $19.95 internet charge was not something had planned on. The Pelican is a lovely resort and service is top-notch. You do not pay a resort fee so that can somewhat offset the internet charge. There is some construction going on at the hotel through Jan 2015 and it was loud at times while you were sitting on the beach. All and all, still a good value - just be aware of some of the in-room amenities that you do not have. The room was clean and plenty of towels are provided. The ocean front view and sunrises are amazing.
