wonderful discovery!

5 of 5
I hesitate to simply repeat the previous glowing reviews, but really it is all true! This warm and welcoming cottage and the owners seem out of the pages of a fairy tale book. Almost too good to be true, but yes, true. The owners' generosity, responsiveness to every request, and decorating sense of style were extraordinary. My partner and I (also in our 60's) were completely enchanted with our home away from home and the neighborhood it is in. The privacy and quiet of the pool and patio out back was very restorative. A five minute walk to the bayou every morning, and along the bayou at night; sighting manatees and dolphin, chatting with the local line fishermen, and enjoying the brick roads and beautiful houses in the Northeast. A short drive south to Fort Desoto Park is a must. Farmers Market on Saturdays as well. Lots to explore every day, and then come back to the cottage. The only bad part was having to leave. We will be back next year for sure!

We return again and again!

5 of 5
We have been staying in the 30A area for well over a decade. From Grayton Beach down to Rosemary. Old Seagrove Beach is our favorite and we choose to return there each year particularly to Sugar Grove. The advantages to staying in Old Segrove is that you have prime location for walking to markets, unique shopping, fine and casual dining, bars, and activities for families. It is literally two blocks to walk into the Seaside neighborhood. If you are looking for a more quiet and secluded stay surrounded by oak trees and sandy paths then this is your place. Beach access is just two blocks straight down the street and we always call the same guy for weekly beach chairs. He setups the chairs for us each day early in the morning. The Sugar Grove House is like staying in a "newly built" old style farmhouse. You have all the comfort but full of charm. Spacious and comfortable downstairs living area with well equipped kitchen. Bed are comfortable with well supportive mattresses. The house is also stocked with extra items like basic pantry items, extra paper goods, lots of good books to read, sand toys for the beach, bikes, chairs, etc. Lots of linens and towels too. It has a more homey feel. If you are looking for a more quiet farmhouse feel while at the beach then this is your place.

Little Palm for Christmas!

5 of 5
The first night we arrived, I sat on the deck with my 17 and 10 year old boys and watched the sun set. The first time they had ever seen such amazing beauty! Ahhhhh. I am missing this place already. The house itself was clean, well organized and decorated, and STOCKED! In past rental homes we had to go out and buy all of our supplies (dishwasher soap, laundry soap, paper towels, beach towels, disposable silverware/plates, etc.) We really felt like we were the guests of this property owner and did not have to buy any of this stuff. Washer/dryer were like new and came in handy with 4 kids and 2 adults. Husband and older kids loved the big tv! Younger 2 and mom lived in the "yard" and beach! Great views, handy to have Mike, the rental guy right off the patio. He set us up with chairs and umbrella everyday, as well as arranged parasailing. This home is far enough away from the crazy "Town Square" area, but close enough to other shops and restaurants. We drove everywhere, so did not get a chance to ride the "trolly". Roxanna was available via text if we needed her. Everything was as described, which is something you always are concerned about as a renter. We only have a few suggestions. My husband was looking forward to spending his time in that hammock that was in your photos, but we didn't see one anywhere. Also, the house is tucked away off the road, which is great, but we did miss it several times during the week if we weren't paying attention, as did the food delivery man! Maybe a bigger "Little Palm" address sign would be helpful for future guests and delivery people! Thank you for sharing your vacation home with us!
