Clean & convenient bungalow with hightech touches.

This 3 bedroom house is a jewel which met all of our needs. It's located on a quiet shady street, perfect for sleeping and socializing on one of the 3 porches. All 4 beds have very good mattresses fitted with clean and new modern linen. The bathrooms are bright with abundant coordinated linen and great water pressure. The kitchen is fully equipped with new appliances and every imaginable gadget needed to cook gourmet meals. It is so easy to learn how to operate everything because the owners documented all the operating instructions in an illustrated guest handbook. The house is an electronic marvel with adjustable aesthetic lighting above & below counters, inside cupboards, behind crown molding, and outside for security. All switches are labeled. This home is an entertainment treasure. The TV is a state of the art flat-screen with a blue-ray player located in a comfortable media room. The large collection of DVDs could keep a family entertained for months. Classic board games and cards are provided for children, along with books. The location of this house is very close to restaurants and trolley stops. Although the house appears small from the outside, the floorplan has adequate spaces for both group gatherings and individual solitude. The 3 separate outdoor porches would also permit children to be separated from adults in the fenced in yard. The outdoor vegetable garden and live plants are well maintained and adds a nice domestic touch. Lots of dog walkers pass by while you are drinking coffee on the front porch. Parking for 3 cars is within the yard. Feedback about your guest satisfaction is activity sought and obviously acted upon because every imaginable detail is accommodated. Look for the dining tips and site seeing guides documented by the owners and guests. This lodging is worth every penny. We can highly recommend this home. We especially enjoyed these upscale restaurants: Columbia, Caps on the Water, and Henleys. We also liked Athena's Greek Restaurant. In terms of attractions, one only needs to charter a trolley ride for one day. We learned from a resident that the Old Town Trolley gives a more extensive tour with padded seats. Ripley's Believe It or Not is fascinating. It's convenient to park in their lot all day for free if you visit the museum. If you love the beach, cross over the bridge and head for St. Augustine Beach across the street from another good informal restaurant called Salt Life.

Fabulous Place!

This cottage was the most charming “rental” I’ve ever stayed in! I didn’t feel like I was in a rental property, but a friend’s home. It was so warm, comfortable, convenient and safe feeling. My mother and I rented this property for my sister for the month of January, as a 60th birthday present, to allow her to “get away” and relax, which is just what she did! It was small enough for her to feel comfortable being there by herself, but large enough for her to host friends and family at different times. The cottage is beautifully restored and taken care of, with the owners personal “artifacts” everywhere. There is even a book that talks about many of the items in the house. The rooms are open and with 3 adults there, we all found our own quiet space when needed. The kitchen is fully stocked, modern and very user friendly. The beds were comfortable and 1 small and 1 large closet and hooks everywhere made living there easy and tidy. We loved the front porch and back patio spaces as well. The location of the house was perfect for us, as we love walking! It is a short walk to the little Maria Sanchez Lake with a friendly path around it, and also about a 10-15 minute walk to downtown St Augustine, which we did often. We walked everywhere and found some great shops and restaurants, which there are plenty of! One of our favorite streets was Aviles St, in the downtown area, which reminded us of being somewhere in Europe. It’s a narrow little street, with historic houses, restaurants and shops. Walking down St George Street is must, a bit touristy, but a very colorful scene! Stop at Sangrias Wine & Tapas Bar (corner of Hypolita & St George St.), for a delicious glass of Sangria, live music and the best people watching on St George Street from the upstairs balcony! Our other favorite spot was the Tini Martini Bar, in the Casablanca Inn, overlooking Matanzas Bay. Perfect spot to rest after a Ghost walking tour! All in all I cannot say enough about this fabulous cottage. The owner Brigid was very responsive to inquiries, and communicated with us very promptly when asked, but left us alone as well to just enjoy her wonderful home! We would highly recommend this cottage to anyone!
