The St. John's River

5 of 5
This is a beautiful home. The entrance and the grounds are exceptional and the view from the River side is amazing. It even has a charming cove. Everything in the home is new and modern and it is very spacious and very clean. You can see the St. John's from the LR, DR, master BR and kitchen through large crystal clear windows. We enjoyed an oyster roast using the outdoor brick BBQ. Enjoyed eating on the patio as well as in the dining room. We had drinks on the dock and watched the sunset. We had fresh orange juice from the oranges we picked from the orange trees on the property. We sliced lemons for our tea from the lemon tree and ate tangerines from the tangerine tree. We watched the fish jump in the River, watched the boats go by, fed the wild turkeys, (from a distance) and watched all the other wildlife (birds and deer). It is everything the owners represented and more. We had a wonderful time and look forward to returning. It is truly a beautiful paradise.

Paradise on the St. John's River

5 of 5
Best Vacation Ever. Our stay at this beautiful upscale home on the banks of the St. John’s River at the edge of the wetlands was nothing less than outstanding. From the moment our hosts met us to give us a tour of the property, to discovering the treats they had prepared for us (fresh muffins, chilled wine, brie cheese and crackers, coffee for the week) we felt both welcomed and at Home. I’m an avid cook and this kitchen had everything I needed to prepare gourmet meals for Christmas day, to baking a fresh Key Lime pie from fruits gathered from the property. The fully stocked kitchen, top notch linens, and comfortable furnishings were extra special touches that are seldom found in holiday rentals. The property was immaculate, and exactly as described. We had coffee and breakfast on the screened upper porch, and the lower screened patio. We relaxed on the beautiful covered pavilion and enjoyed hours in the hammock and off the covered docks. My husband spent many enjoyable hours fishing off the docks, and I was happy to snap photos of the local wildlife and surroundings. Clark and Gemma’s hospitality made our stay at Tranquility at Casa del Rio one that we will remember with fondness. I can only hope that we will have another opportunity to stay at this beautifully kept and lovingly cared for property. Bobbie and David Today p.s. We’re still playing the lottery in hopes we can be your neighbors some day! ☺

Quiet, safe, comfortable, roomy.

5 of 5
We were very comfortable in this quiet, peaceful retreat. The family is very welcoming and hospitable but were very aware of our need for privacy. The apartment is roomy and well equipped. We were so happy to have a full kitchen after having to make do with small apartment sized ones at another location. We were able to have our 2year old grandson stay overnight with us several times. He loved the swings, horses, cat, chickens, sand pile with toys, etc. Our hosts have two darling daughters and the three of them had a great time playing together. The road from Micanopy is dirt/sand. It is a surprise the first time we drove it, but we soon found it fun to wind into the 'jungle' to our private drive and very safe place. We loved this place and we plan on returning. It is only a short drive into Gainesville (about 20 minutes).
