Wonderful

5 of 5
sometimes no need for air-conditioning. Beaches only 2 miles away. Restaurant always have specials; golfing at Venice Lake near airport-$16.00 after noon for golf and cart. October and November are great months to vacation in Fl. The water is still warm and not usually crowded. January and February - no snow but the water is too cold. March is too crowded. Route 41 is a traffic nightmare; restaurants overcrowded, and the beach forget it. If you want a parking spot-get there before 9 am. I have been there in March-got a tan and a headache. Nancy has great properties and October-November are great times to relax. I will be back.

Was happy to be able to visit again!

In 2013 I had the pleasure of renting this cottage for 7 months. I used it as my summer weekend getaway since I only live a little over an hour away. It was "love at first sight" when Nancy first showed me the property. It is so artsy, but also comfy and welcoming. It is next to impossible to find something of this quality in this vicinity (I searched quite awhile). I really did feel so at home and like it was "mine". As others have stated, there is every appliance and utensil you could possibly need. The apartment size refrigerator is perfect, and I didn't miss having an actual cooktop stove/oven. There are so many good and unique places to dine out very close by. And with a grocery store near also, you needn't worry about stocking up. I loved the fact that Nokomis Beach is only a few minutes away and also enjoyed bike riding on the Legacy Trail very close by. Its so easy to get to the beach quickly to watch the sun set. I loved the privacy on the back deck, along with the umbrella and table. I didn't spend a lot of time on the Secret Garden deck. Mosquitos were a little pesky the few times I tried, or it was just too humid out for me. There was a pileated woodpecker who would admire his reflection in my car window a few times, who pecked furiously. He was easy enough to shoo away. I would also suggest not parking directly under the enormous pine tree when its really warm. Sap WILL drop down! (only a drop or two from time to time) As a single lady, I felt very safe here. I also prudently kept the door locked when I wasn't outdoors. I would highly recommend staying here and hope you love it just as I did!
