Best Florida Stay Ever!

5 of 5
After vacationing in central west Florida for over ten years, our stay at the Bayshore House this summer was the best vacation our family has ever enjoyed. There are many superlatives that could be used to describe the various features of the property and the owners should be commended for the exquisite balance they have struck in creating a space that has both a genuine feeling of home along with a flair for style and taste. Here are some specific reasons that make the house distinctive: First, it is bright and spacious with many areas for unwinding. Second, the view of the backyard through the multi-windowed Florida room brings the outside in and allows for an appreciation of the landscaping in the old Florida style. Third, the home is beautifully decorated with many unique special touches, including a seascape mural. Last, all amenities are modern and updated, with a special mention to how much we appreciated the custom made outside shower and swimming pool. Aside from these qualities that create an ideal vacation home, the owners are warm and hospitable. When we made our first inquiry, Skip couldn't have been more accommodating. Upon our arrival we received a call from Kelly to welcome us and answer any questions. At one point during our stay, we e-mailed them about local restaurant recommendations, and they quickly responded with suggestions that have become our new favorites. We are looking forward to our stay next summer.

Was happy to be able to visit again!

5 of 5
In 2013 I had the pleasure of renting this cottage for 7 months. I used it as my summer weekend getaway since I only live a little over an hour away. It was "love at first sight" when Nancy first showed me the property. It is so artsy, but also comfy and welcoming. It is next to impossible to find something of this quality in this vicinity (I searched quite awhile). I really did feel so at home and like it was "mine". As others have stated, there is every appliance and utensil you could possibly need. The apartment size refrigerator is perfect, and I didn't miss having an actual cooktop stove/oven. There are so many good and unique places to dine out very close by. And with a grocery store near also, you needn't worry about stocking up. I loved the fact that Nokomis Beach is only a few minutes away and also enjoyed bike riding on the Legacy Trail very close by. Its so easy to get to the beach quickly to watch the sun set. I loved the privacy on the back deck, along with the umbrella and table. I didn't spend a lot of time on the Secret Garden deck. Mosquitos were a little pesky the few times I tried, or it was just too humid out for me. There was a pileated woodpecker who would admire his reflection in my car window a few times, who pecked furiously. He was easy enough to shoo away. I would also suggest not parking directly under the enormous pine tree when its really warm. Sap WILL drop down! (only a drop or two from time to time) As a single lady, I felt very safe here. I also prudently kept the door locked when I wasn't outdoors. I would highly recommend staying here and hope you love it just as I did!
