We have typically stayed in a pool home but as there were less of us and this was a last minute trip we decided to try a townhome and chose Lake Berkley on the referral of a friend. Its really a beautiful community that is hidden at the end of a road - you wouldn't imagine this peaceful place is just around the corner from a Walmart - so you can imagine how close it is to all the shops and restaurants! We did visit the lake a few times and its very peaceful. No swimming (I expect because of potential Alligators, but we didn't see any small fish from the short). There is a beach to hang out in the sand which is raised up before it gets to the water. So its a place for children to play or anyone to lay in the sun. The villa is located just across the yard from the clubhouse and pool. So we could easily walk across the grass and enjoy a swim which was VERY convenient! So it is not overlooking another villa directly behind it which most seem to do here ... The pool area is beautiful and very relaxing. We were the only ones in the pool any time we were there ... I guess everyone else was at the park :) But I'm told September is a great time to visit because its slow. We were not traveling with children but the little gated water park was adorable :) I would surely recommend this to adult or senior travelers and they obviously have catered to children as well. We will definitely be telling friends about this villa - we LOVED the location across from the pool, the big screen TV in the living area and the ease of the check-in process with the keyless entry.
