Wonderful accomodations!

5 of 5
As soon as we arrived at the marina we were greeted by the property manager who lives aboard the boat in the next slip. He showed us around the sailboat and the marina. Everything aboard was perfect and there was enough room for myself and my three daughters. My 17 and 15 year old girls took the forward berth and my 13 year old and I took the berths in the bow. When we did not eat at any of the many restaurants nearby we used the gas grill under the tiki hut. The showers at the marina were always available when we needed them, and another great bonus is the ice machine near the men's restroom! After getting settled in on Monday we made the short drive to Islamorada to feed the tarpon at Robbie's marina. We snorkeled Alligator Reef lighthouse, went to Sombrero Beach and also spent a day at Bahia Honda State park where we enjoyed kayaking and one of the most beautiful beaches I've ever seen. The snorkeling from shore was also pretty decent, I saw a stingray, crabs, and numerous small fish. Harry Harris park also has a nice beach and also you can swim and snorkel from shore there too. Be sure to check out Library Beach where the locals hang out behind the library, and you will want to spend some time at Anne's Beach. On Wed. after spending all day at Bahia Honda we drove to Key West and did the sunset cruise on the Fury catamaran. Live music, good food' and margaritas were abundant, so I'm glad that my 17 year old has her drivers licence. 4 days in the Keys is not enough time so we're saving up our allowances to come back next spring break. We decided to do this trip at the last minute and of all the inquiries I made the owners of the Northern Cross were the quickest to reply. They stayed in touch with me before, during, and after our stay. Great service, great sailboat, great marina, and great location made for a super great vacation. If you like a peaceful and quiet place to relax after racing around all over the Keys having fun then you need to live on board this 42' sailboat!

Fabulous and Unique. Great Rental!

Our family had an amazing time staying on the Calypso houseboat. The boat had everything we wanted in a rental, clean and spacious, the beds were super comfortable and the kids had their own rooms. The location (Pilot House Marina) was perfect. There was even a restaurant at the marina that I highly recommend and the bar (Glass Bottom Bar) is right over the water and has glass floors so you can see down into the water. My most favorite part of the houseboat experience was spending the evening on the roof deck watching the sun set. Several nights we made home cooked meals and just hung out up there as a family taking it all in. Soooooooo perfect! The kids loved it so much they can't wait to go back!
