Fourth of July Family Vacation

4 of 5
Older home that is well maintained, well-stocked and very clean. At first glance we were nervous about the window air conditioners and wood paneling walls, however the house was perfect! The window air conditioners kept the home cool and the wood paneling walls add character that is hard to find these days. Our 5 kids loved the beach and the private access. There was nobody around us and we had a blast dominating the private beach on a holiday weekend. The house had towels, toys, and chairs for everything beach-fun! Because we have 5 kids, we did have to purchase some additional toys for everyone. There were several "left behind" bottles of toiletries, spices, cleaning supplies, etc... in case you forget something (convenient if you need something last minute). We did have to buy toilet paper before our week ended but CVS was close by, so no worries. The kitchen was updated and newly renovated. The living room furniture was a little worn but comfortable. The bedrooms have their own A/C units and could be adjusted. There was 1 bedroom and bath on the first level, and 3 bedrooms, 1 bath upstairs. We knew the 2 bathrooms might be a stretch for our family of 7 but we managed. I would recommend getting up a little early and walking to The Lighthouse bakery for fresh doughnuts...yummy! Scooter, bike and boat rental was just a quick walk across the street. Restaurants were nearby (we drove but you could walk). The neighborhood (street) was quaint and friendly. We never left the house on The 4th and could watch more than 15 different firework displays...GORGEOUS and MEMORABLE!! I gave it 4 stars because the house was a little older and there were some small inconveniences like: no A/C in the bathrooms and it got hot (but you could open the window), the paddle boat that was offered did not work, the canoe was unusable, and the laundry room did not connect from inside the house. I would stay again because it was priced right, and the kids had a blast and didn't notice the small issues.

Fabulous beach house! Fabulous beach!

5 of 5
I wanted to drop you a note and tell you how much we enjoyed our stay at the beach house. The house was absolutely beautiful and we loved the beach! It was not very busy and the gulf waters were so warm ... and shallow enough that we could enjoy a lot of nice wading and casual swimming. We saw a dolphin one day, and a group of 6 stingray swimming close to shore another day. We really appreciated all the beach chairs/umbrellas and other equipment in the garage. When we landed in Tampa last Saturday, I told my husband "Darn, I forgot to go to the library and get a couple of books to read." Well, that was not an issue with all the books and magazines that were available to us. Our teenage daughter and her friend really loved the separate downstairs bedroom, so they stayed together in that room instead of one of them using the upstairs bedroom. They felt like they were in an apartment! It was a good way for them to have their separate space and give us some peace and quiet inside the house. All in all, a very good visit! I'm not sure when we will be back in the area for another vacation, but we will definitely book your place again.

Dream house

5 of 5
This is a dream house. Everything is top of the line. It is way better than the description given. The house was spotless and everything looked new.Its right on the beach at the begining of a string of single family homes. Most of the other homes were empty so most of the time you had the beach almost to yourself. It is very peaceful, but if you get in your car and drive down the road either way you will find plenty of bars, reataurants and stores. Also the parks are not far away either. The ages of everyone in the house ranged from 9 years old to 55 years old and everyone loved the house. There is something for every age to do. Young or old and in between you will enjoy this house and the surrounding area. If you would like to stay in a first class house right on a beautiful private beach and watch the beautiful sunsets then i would highly recommend this house. we all loved it and can't wait to go back.
