Staying on the North Side of the island is ideal! We really enjoyed the location and affordability of this property (steps from the beach, biking distance to food/shops, quiet street) and it's casual/beachy decor. The little extras were all there including the beach supplies, outdoor grill, well stocked kitchen, and beach towels. Would be great to rent the upper unit and invite friends/family. We rented bikes and did not use a car all week. We went to the beach for a few hours, Body and Sol Day Spa for massages/manicures, Two Scoops for ice cream, boutique shopping all over, then onto one of the piers for sunset watching. Go to The Waterfront Restaurant at 5:00 pm to get an outdoor table. The made to order donuts at Anna Maria Donuts are irresistible, blended Mocha at Coffee Haus, tshirt shopping across the street where all the parrots will talk to you. The Publix grocery store in Bradenton is less crowded and cheaper then the one on the island. Just an all around great vacation where the family can disconnect from the world and connect with each other. You can be as lazy or active as your heart desires. We have been to the Aruba, the Exumas, and several other beaches in the U.S. and prefer AMI as the sand is literally like powdered sugar and the wildlife is breathtaking!
