Great location - casual "cottage like" vibe

4 of 5
We stayed at the Beach House for two weeks in February. Prior to arriving I had a number of questions and the owner responded promptly to my enquiries. It is exactly as described and photographed on the website - no surprises - I really value that. We were visiting from Toronto where the temperatures we the lowest recorded in history for February so even though it wasn't seasonal temps in Florida we didn't mind 20 degree Celsius and in the backyard by the pool it was much warmer in the sun and no problem lying around in bathing suits and swimming. When it did get colder there were lots of things to do and explore in the area so no complaints. We travelled with 4 grown children in their 20's and they drove off to Orlando one cold day to see Harry Potter World and loved it. Lots of great places to eat close by - we walked to Lobstahs, Hurricane Hanks, and took the free trolley to the pier in Anna Maria and had lunch there as well as into Bradenton beach where we had lunch at the pier there and dinner at Bridge Tenders as well as the Beachhouse. All great restaurants! The Publix grocery store and Wallgreens liquour store are close by. We bought a basketball at the Ace hardware as there are community basketball courts just a short walk away. We didn't bring tennis racquets and couldn't rent any but there are also community tennis courts close by. The beach is beautiful - we didn't spend much time on it just because it was too cool and windy but great for walking on while we were there - just not laying out - although there were some real beach lovers who were! Anna Maria Beach Café is also a great place to hang out and watch the sunset and have a cocktail. Everything you need to cook at home is provided. As the pictures show the table in the dining room area only accommodates 4 so with a party of 6 a couple of people have to eat at the bar - no issues from our perspective as our meals at home were more casual anyway. We had hoped to eat outside more by the pool when we bbq'd at home but the weather didn't cooperate. If you're looking for a 5 star resort holiday this is not the place for you. If you're looking for a great place to hang out comfortably with family and feel relaxed in a casual setting this is definitely the place for you.

Best location and clean clean clean!

5 of 5
Our small family of three (me, my husband, and our 8 yr old daughter) had the pleasure of staying in this beautiful home between Christmas and New Years. The reviews steered us in this direction and did not disappoint. The house is extremely clean (I'm a clean freak), is beautifully decorated in a beach theme, has lots of natural light, and is in the perfect location. It is a two minute walk to the grocery store and other retail -- bagel shop, ice cream, diner/cafe, bar/pizza place, Walgreens and CVS, ACE hardware, and beach sundries shops. We also rented a bike for our 8 yr old daughter for the week at a bike rental shop by the grocery store. On the other side of the house, it is a two minute walk the other way to the beach. We rode bikes all over the island straight from the house -- 2 miles up to the quaint town of Anna Maria and its Pier and 2 miles south to Bradenton Beach and its shopping area on Bridge Street. The house is also fully stocked with everything you'd need for cooking (all kitchen utensils & appliances), sleeping (lots of blankets, pillows, etc.), and beaching. The garage is full of stuff for the beach -- two adult beach cruisers, one toddler bike, a SUP, beach chairs, a cart to pull everything to the beach in, sand toys, and tons of beach towels. The pool is heated and the pool cleaner came twice during our stay and kept it crystal clean. Emma was a pleasure and easy to work with and responsive. I highly recommend this home if you're looking at going to Anna Maria Island. You will be more than happy and pleased!

Wonderful house for family vacation!

5 of 5
Our family of 4 enjoyed this charming 3 BR house immensely! We most enjoyed having so much space a full house offered. House would be perfect with kids and grandparents too even, for 6 total. There are 3 couches and 2 lounge chairs in living room. The windows and lighting offered so much natural sunlight, which was inviting. The house was on a nice quiet street, yet one could walk to the trolley stop, or the Sandbar restaurant or the breakfast place across from it. Beach was only a short walk away as well. We would definitely come back and would recommend this house in a heartbeat to anyone who plans on traveling to AMI! We had 2 days great weather and 2 days cloudy/rain (but even used the heated pool, with no issues). We enjoyed a trip to the Mote Aquarium and took their "Sea Life" cruise on the Sarasota Bay... a must see, especially those traveling with kids. St. Armand's Circle also offered shopping and a variety of restaurants as well. But with a house, you could certainly plan on many meals at home. Also, Karen, the owner, was so very nice and very accommodating, especially with our travel times. We met friends from home while there, who have been coming to AMI for years, and they rented a smaller cottage.. they were in awe of our space. As previously mentioned, limited cleaning supplies available so I suggest doing an inventory when you arrive and getting once you are there. Also no hair dryer found (I forgot mine), so bring a travel one with you. We loved our few days on this island. If we ever come back to AMI, we will definitely be renting this house again! Wonderful vacation!
