cliff notes version: location, manatees, yachts, roomy beach house, pet friendly, pro mgmt.

8 of us had a great 9 day family reunion (including beloved family members, chocolate labs bruno and bella) in the tarpon bay house. the property is on a corner lot with great sun exposure...pool and patio on one side, and a covered chill area on the intracoastal for seating, dining, grilling, and sunsets. the yacht parade is mind blowing...be sure to plan your at-home day sunday when they all come out and flex their wealth. lots of other rentals boast waterfront, which means everyday you look out and see the same boats parked across the canal that rarely move. their claim about seeing manatee is no b.s....we saw at least 50 in the shallow water right off the seawall, most passing by, coming up for air and leaving with a tail flip...sometimes they would gather around the barnacles and nibble off the plants growing there...contrary to popular belief they seem pretty strong, fast and agile although many bear the scars of boat propellers on their backs. the house is almost a throwback museum from the 60's and has a lot of character, so if you're the picky type looking for high-end everything it's probably not for you. we're a bunch of cool breezes so it was a great home base for all the things to do real close in FtL. just so you know, it's really 2 full houses stuck together with no inside access, they both do open up to the 2 sides on the water and have 3 beds 2 baths each. it worked great for us, we put the young ones on one side, and us old farts on the other. best of all, dealing with lynn smith was great, always cheerful, available and accommodating.

Tangerine Dream was great.

5 of 5
We were very pleased with our stay. The house was clean and well appointed and we immediately felt at home. The pool, spa and outdoor furniture are the best part of the house, just as you would want from a vacation house in Ft. Lauderdale. Ronald bent over backwards to make sure our stay was enjoyable. Over our 6 week stay a few things came up and he immediately went to work to solve them. We would recommend this house to others.

Relaxing Canal View by the Pool

4 of 5
It was a pleasant 10 day stay in this spacious house with our friends. Everyone had a good time, never too crowded. We sat 12 people for birthday dinner celebrations and 8 slept over. Furniture was adequate and in good repair. Kitchen was decently equipped but we did have to bring some extra plates, serving platters and glassware. We did find some basic kitchen staples (coffee, tea, condiments, spices) left by other renters so we did the same. Detergents, garbage bags were conveniently supplied. Neighborhood is very posh, among well manicured multi-million dollar homes, very quiet and safe. Groceries and restaurants are nearby. Bathrooms were stocked with toiletries and towels were plentiful and in good condition. Plumbing is in good working order. Bed linens were in good shape. There is some visible wear and tear on carpets, cabinets but overall in acceptable condition. Pool is well-maintained but not heated, so on a cool day in February you have to be a Canadian to swim, on sunnier days anyone can swim. Nicely landscaped. Location is very straight forward, 15 min drive to Las Olas, Riverwalk. 30 min drive to Sawgrass Mall. Lots of golf nearby. Closest beach is 5-7 min drive. Driveway can park 4 cars.
