Clean, quality and exceeds the promise

5 of 5
If you are considering renting this property and have made it this far to the reviews, I am telling you to book it! It is AMAZING! Personally, I had all but given up on renting private properties because owners consistently over promised and way under delivered. Previously, I was disappointed with the quality of the furnishings, housewares and linens for the price point that I was paying. I am also extremely particular on cleanliness. Rental or not, I want it clean. This property is WONDERFUL. Elisabeth goes ABOVE and BEYOND to ensure that the property is well maintained and super clean for the arrival of her guests. I think she even mops the front steps because they were perfectly white! The interior is well appointed with a very functional and comfortable layout that is easy to maintain. Considerable thought was put into the furniture and decor so her guests would feel comfortable in their home away from home. No left overs or garage sale finds here! Plenty of big thirsty beach towels as well as quality towels for the baths. We absolutely loved the pool (and pool shelf) in the front, of course the gulf and beach in the back and the fire pit, hammocks and deck. Pure bliss is right! Amazing sunsets, perfect weather, quiet beach (we were there in October) and a safe area. I would be remiss if I didn't mention the landscaping. Elisabeth doesn't mention too much about it in the property marketing, but it is breathtaking. The pictures don't do it justice. So many flowering plants, varieties of palm trees, so well maintained. WOW, all of this was a bonus. We will surely return to this property. Something we've never said before. Also, this is the first positive review I've written because it truly deserves the accolades. ENJOY!

A Perfect Vacation Rental

5 of 5
Selecting the right vacation rental can be difficult, especially in a location like Fort Myers where there are hundreds to choose from. The only thing we regret about renting Kathy’s bungalow is that we couldn’t stay longer than 2 weeks. From the moment we saw the bungalow online, viewed the photos, read the description and all the glowing reviews we knew this was the place for us. Kathy promptly answered any questions we had and was happy to provide as much information as we needed to make our decision. The day of our arrival we were delayed over 8 hours and instead of arriving midafternoon we got to the house around 11:30pm. We advised Kathy of our late arrival and she surprised us with goodies to snack on at the late hour. This put the travel hassles to sleep and got our 2 week stay off to a wonderful start. Our objective for this trip was to decompress and not have any particular agenda. We quickly discovered there was no need to even leave the place as everything we were looking for was there. It was in a wonderful neighborhood where you could forget the car and easily walk (or use the bikes at the house) and go to restaurants, bars, shops and even a Publix. The back yard and pool area was totally private and complete with sand, palm trees, chairs, table and an incredibly inviting pool. The very large screened in lanai was perfect for meals, reading and simply relaxing. I quickly secured a cozy reading corner! Beach towels, air mattresses, beach goodies for kids and other general household items were also there. A nice selection of movies and CDs were enjoyed as well. A few favorite local spots were Ron Dao’s for pizza, Cape Cod Fish Company for the best seafood outside of New England and Love Boat Ice Cream for dessert. Yes, you’re on vacation so dietary restrictions go out the window! Crave is a wonderful place to visit for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The bungalow’s location provides easy access to both the Fort Myers and Sanibel beaches. But you really don’t need to go to the beach with that wonderfully secluded pool just off the lanai. In summary, there is no need to continue your search for a vacation rental. This house is perfect for a couple or the entire family. You’ll quickly feel at home in Kathy’s bungalow and, if you’re like us, will definitely be a repeat visitor.

Best kept secret on Captiva Island!

5 of 5
I cannot say enough about this property! My family and I (4 of us total) stayed for a week in early October. It was more than enough room for us. We were looking for a quiet, secluded, non-touristy type of place, and we hit the jackpot with Sea Dreams. The home has all the kitchen essentials (plenty of dishes, utensils, pots, pans, food storage containers, and even an array of spices), beach towels, linens, etc. There was even leftover laundry detergent, dishwashing detergent, etc. from the previous guest so make sure you check in and take an inventory before you go to the grocery, which is a relaxing and scenic 15 minute drive from the home. There were TV's in every room and an abundance of beach chairs, toys, umbrellas, and a cooler. The weather was sunny and 80-90 degrees all week and we were even able to get in the ocean. There were only a couple other families on the beach, and only 1 other family using the pool, so we basically had everything to ourselves. The keyless entry took the hassle out of checking in. There are tons of local restaurants, live music, and little shops. You have to go to the Bubble Room for dessert - it is a MUST! The bed upstairs was a little firm for my taste, but I was still able to sleep well. The owner was incredibly easy to work with as well. The walk to the beach was as easy as crossing 1 street and you're right there on the beach - less than a 30 second walk. One thing to note - prices at the grocery down here are very expensive, so bring whatever you can from home if you want to keep your costs down. A couple minor things were broken, such as the spice rack and a beach umbrella, but nothing that interfered with our vacation. I would definitely recommend this property and would stay here again.
