Pleasant, Quiet, and Eclectic

5 of 5
I am a local Florida native and heard about Ms. Kelly's Birdhouse Bungalow through friends in Connecticut! I decided to spend my "staycation" at this gorgeous historic house and have admittedly fallen in love with it. There are two richly inviting bedrooms downstairs (a master and a smaller, very cozy one), dark wood floors throughout, and a second floor loft space which I spent most of my time in. I felt like a novelist on holiday and found the space eclectic and relaxing. The home is full of interesting Florida-inspired treasures from books to photos to old postcards. It is also close to the beach and downtown which is always important to a vacationer. I have already booked another stay here in 2015.

Highly Recommended!

5 of 5
I just returned from four nights at this property. My teenage son and I were in Port Charlotte visiting my adult daughter. I wanted a place big enough for the three of us to stay together, and this house was perfect! We spent much of our time outside thanks to the pool and lanai, and we were a short drive from the minor league baseball game we attended. Communication with the owner was quick and easy, and the gentleman who lives nearby and watches the property stopped by to make sure everything was going well for us. This will be my first choice anytime I travel to Port Charlotte!

Lovely Vacation

5 of 5
This review is 2 months late but you return home from vacation and life takes over. Better late than never. My husband John and I stayed in Unit 2 for a week in May. We are from Long Island New York. The unit is a one bedroom bungalow. It was absolutely perfect for us. Mark has ensured that the bungalow is very nicely furnished with all of the amenities that you have at home. We were able to make dinner on the courtyard BBQ and mix up some frozen drinks in the blender. The courtyard is lovely and very nice for relaxing after a day on the beach. The unit also includes beach towels, an umbrella and beach chairs...everything you need is included. There are community washers and dryers that all tenants of the complex may use free of charge. Mark and his family are very lovely people. When you need Mark he is there. If you don't need assistance he is very unobtrusive. The location of the bungalow complex was fantastic. The walk from our front door to our chairs on the beach took all of about 60 seconds. And what a gorgeous beach! I was in heaven. We travel to the Caribbean every year and the beach here was just as beautiful. Mark's units are also a quick walk to Bridge Street where there are restaurants, lounges and miscellaneous stores. Every unit also has a set of bicycles. We didn't use them until the end of our trip and my husband and I wished we used them every day. I can say with certainty that we will be returning next May....we enjoyed the bungalow and Mark's hospitality that much. I know that there are a lot of places that you can rent on Anna Maria Island but I don't think you will find a cleaner place, in a fantastic location without spending a lot more money. This trip was perfect for us and we have Mark to thank for that.
