I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental.
I was somewhat unhappy with the location.
The vacation rental was clean.
The property manager was adequately helpful.
Overall, I recommend this vacation rental.
We rented the Sand Dollar at the last minute because our previous rental was accidentally overbooked. Beth was great at getting us booked and reserved in a days time. The rental was small but quaint. Nothing fancy, but just enough for a family of 5 (3 kids ages 6,4 & 2 mos). My oldest 2 bunked out on the "springy" pull out sofa (luckily they're not fussy about those things) and my husband and I slept comfortably on the king bed. The laundry facilities were just fine but the stairs were a bit taxing in 92 degree weather. We attempted the beach just a block away on our first day. As native Floridians we were less than impressed with it. Extremely shallow, dirty and HOT. I guess late August is not ideal for Gulfport beach. We opted to drive to Madiera and Treasure Island the rest of the time. Had I known of Gulfports beach condition we would have stayed elsewhere. We enjoyed Johns Pass and ate only once at O'Maddys. The food was good and the staff very pleasant. If I had to do it over I would have stayed in Madiera beach, but that's just a preference and not a reflection on the Sand Dollar. Otherwise, we felt Gulfport was cute, quiet and pleasant. The ability to text any problems and concerns was convenient but it sometimes took an hour or more for a response. It did, however, make check out a breeze. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, dishes, etc. I overlooked the fact that it didn't have a dishwasher, so that was a drag. We did request an air mattress when my nephew came to stay a night but the pump was broken and we had to bunk my middle child with us. We were given a new one the following night. All in all, the Sand dollar was just fine for a family getaway.
