After much deliberation, I selected the Melbourne Beach five bedroom, 5.5 bath house right on the ocean. The moment I walked in the door, I knew I was going to have an amazing week! The door opens to a small foyer and just around the bend are the STUNNING floor to ceiling windows looking over the ocean. Breathtaking! The kitchen has a fantastic new stove (which got quite the workout this weekend) and the window in the kitchen and open floor plan allows me to cook while having the breeze from the ocean and I can still look out those stunning windows! Off the kitchen is a very, very large bedroom with another kitchen, which came in super handy when I had multiple things cooking (another new stove, super nice!) and a great garden tub with jets. This bedroom also has the floor to ceiling windows and a door onto the patio/walkway to the ocean. The first-floor master bedroom is fantastic - there are two walk in closets, a massive bathroom with a gorgeous glass-walled shower, and something I've never seen in a rental beach house -- A LUXURY LAUNDRY ROOM IN THE MASTER!!! The room is so nice I honestly made notes and took pictures for my husband to make one exactly like it when we get home!
The third floor bedrooms were lovely - they were huge and the beds are incredibly comfortable. It was also so great that the kids didn't have to share a bathroom - each bedroom has its own! The third floor deck is so peaceful. The sounds of the ocean are calming and the view is second to none. One on side I have the beautiful ocean, and on the other side, I have another view of water! The deck chairs were great and everything was brand-new, and every night we had a great time on the third floor balcony looking at the stars and enjoying the sound of the ocean.
Even though I know we should have been outside, it was great that every bedroom had a HUGE TV and the living room TV was massive - and great cable! The Netflix account being pre-loaded on the TV was super handy, and having all of the remotes labeled made even me, the luddite, understand how to turn on the sound bar (which was also great for playing my iPhone music!!) and TV.
The basement is a teenager's paradise. Two fantastic beds, possibly the world's most comfortable couch, a bar, and a massive pool table. Epic.
Overall, this is the best rental home I've ever booked - I've been traveling and booking rental properties in Florida, South Carolina, and GA for 15+ years, and this was the easiest, cleanest, and nicest
