Absolutely the best place for a family group

5 of 5
We rented this place for my wife's 60th birthday (late December 2014) and it was one of the most amazing weekends of our lives. We wanted to celebrate this event in a very unique way and we were not disappointed. The reviews seemed almost too good to be true, yet they didn't come close to our incredible experience - or the fun had by the 36 people in our group. This place is simply AMAZING - and the owner is too! Before arrival, our 11-year-old granddaughter said, "What if this is all a joke & we only find a small house with a tiny pool and yard?" Upon arrival, she turned and said "It Is even better than the pictures!" The next day, her 8-year-old brother (been to Disney several times) told us "This is the best day of my life!" Prior to our visit, we exchanged many emails with the owner - Andrew. We always found him to be FUN, available (answering most emails within 10 minutes) and accommodating. We were welcomed at the house by Andrew's caretaker Felicia who gave us a complete tour of the property. Both she and Andrew said they were available any time of day or night - no question too small, stupid or unnecessary. We contacted them a few times during our stay and they responded immediately and were VERY helpful. This place is incredible. It held all 36 of us without us tripping over each other. The main house has an incredible kitchen, living room and dining room upstairs and a spacious common room (with disco, arcade) downstairs - 6 bedrooms in the main house and 4 in the guest house. There are also plenty very comfortable non-private sleeping spaces. The 2 houses are very close with a kitchen and plenty of bathrooms in each. It worked out perfectly for our group because several of us need to eat gluten-free and we made one kitchen a gluten-free zone. There is also a great outside cooking and eating area. The weather was so perfect we ate every dinner outside on the patio area. Our family (4 generations ages 2 through 86) is spread over 6 states and don't get the chance to get together as much as we'd like. We all attended 2 weddings earlier in the year, but stayed in separate rooms or hotels & we felt like we hadn't really had a chance to visit with everyone. Our experience at the Sweet Escape was very different. We'd walk from room to room, finding different groups talking or playing together - having the time of their lives enjoying each other's company. Andrew and his house helped make our dreams come true and we will be forever thankful.

Wonderful time - Thank you so much!

Other than having a little miscommunication about the pool heat being turned on, everything was great. The house was just as described. Very clean. Beds were comfortable. Very spacious. Plenty of linens provided. I would suggest some items for the kitchen such as cutting boards and sharper knives, maybe a newer coffee pot. The kitchen had plenty of dishes and at least one of each of the basic cooking pots and baking sheets. If future renters are planning to do a lot of cooking, you will want to bring some of your own stuff. I found it a bit hard prepping without a cutting board. Thankfully, our trip didn't allow for cooking every night. This house is also in a GREAT location in a gated community. We didn't have long travel times to any of the places we went, shopping, restaurants, theme parks, putt-putt, etc.

Most Amazing Rental Home Experience

5 of 5
If the Garden of Eden still exists, this place is IT. Weeks after my stay, I'm still saying "WOW" looking at our photos. The Ever After Estate is, as far as I know, completely original-- There's nothing else like it. We thought the pictures were amazing before we arrived...but the photos simply don't do the place justice. This not just a vacation home-- It was like having our own mini resort of even theme park. The water slide was INCREDIBLE-- just as good as any major water park's--but-- since it was in "our" backyard-- we had unlimited, private access.. The pool was amazing-- I definitely recommend sitting under the waterfalls and letting the water massage your shoulders! Outdoor billiards? A HUGE hit---but not as big of a hit as OUTDOOR movies poolside under the stars-- One night--we watched almost 3 complete movies outside back-to-back...(The estate had a collection of about a thousand movies!)... The main kitchen was huge and fully stocked but we spent a good portion of our time using the outdoor summer kitchen & grill... One day we had mini golf contests-- Other days, the men fished--and the rest of us played volleyball, horseshoes, tetherball, soccer, bean bag toss--and some of the other games set up around the property.. The little kids--especially the little princesses LOVED the carousel horses.. There were over 30 of us and we never felt crammed in at all--- It was fun just to look at all of the hidden art, themes, unusual decor....and.. oh my, what else? Well, the teen boys in our group were often lost playing video games on the huge movie theater screen while others played skeeball and splashed down the INDOOR slide into the ballpit room.. The scenery was incredible.. I loved the tall sand hill cranes...and we even saw a large turtle during our stay--but... what made it extra special---and worth going back to more than anything-----was the careful attention we received from Andrew-- the place is his like "child"---but he let us have it to ourselves--yet--he was always a text message away if we had any questions or needed any help-- His level of service and his attention to detail were better than anything I've experienced in a hotel--and WAY better than anything in any other vacation home-- Then again, The Ever After Estate is far more than just a home. We'll be back.
