A Peaceful Getaway in Central Florida

5 of 5
If you are looking for a beautiful view, peace and quiet, abundant wildlife, and gorgeous sunsets: this is the spot for you! This 3 bedroom home on Lake Josephine includes a bunk room for 4, a master bedroom with a king size bed, a second bedroom with a queen size bed and 3 different sitting areas with sofas. Plenty of room for a large family or group. Very clean with attractive decor. The location is super convenient to both coasts and Orlando (1 1/2 hours away for all).Locally this is the real Florida where that angus beef is raised and that orange juice on your table comes from. Just a few miles from this home is Henscratch Farms where you can get fresh eggs, observe wine making and sample wines, you can even stomp your own at certain times. They also have a great gift shop with homemade items: I recommend Garlic Grapeseed Oil and the Pickled Baby Beets . Yummy! You can check out that angus beef at the local Watering Hole Restaurant which has a live band on the weekends. You can get gator bites there too if you want a genuine central Florida treat. My two favorite local attractions are Wildlife Adventures with Captain Jon and his airboat and Highlands Hammock State Park. All of these are just a 10 to 15 minute drive from the house. Freddy and Mike are jewels and go over and above to meet your needs. Thank you Freddy and Mike for a beautiful spot to stay!

wonderful winter stay

5 of 5
This is a hidden gem for winter travel for those of us weary of cold and snow. We enjoyed the villa, located centrally in this gem of a community. Relaxing was the theme of our time, with time at the pool, use of the game room, bingo, and much more as we wanted. Friendly community, outgoing individuals but able to sit back and relax as wanting. One of the few communities that is really dog friendly for those who travel with their smaller furry friends. We look so forward to returning here in the future.

A little bit of heaven

5 of 5
I loved my stay here. Located on a rural road about 4 miles south of Sebring with 6 large live oak trees the cottage sits well off the road and is quiet. There is a beautiful lakeview from the living room and access to the dock where you can sit on a gliding bench seat and see sunrises. There is a covered parking space. Originally built by a ship's captain the cottage has many nooks and crannies for storage. There is also a working fireplace which I used and enjoyed very much. The cottage reminded me of the nice cottages we stayed at in the Finger Lakes in upstate NY in the 60's where I grew up. They were homey and not the Shangri Las so many are today. Kaydee, the owner, was very accommodating. A new heater was installed while I was there with required wiring which provided more than adequate heat on cool nights. The bathroom was new with a nice shower. The living room was beautifully wood paneled. The kitchen was equipped with microwave, toaster, stove and fridge. I enjoyed sitting on the front patio that overlooked the lake. I particularly like the fact that I could drive into Sebring either on a nearby 4 lane divided road or take a less traveled country road that ran through orange orchards. I had some great weekly breakfasts at different restaurants with a group of local car club members. I also was privileged to attend a Veteran's dinner. I have booked the cottage for next year and can't say enough good about it. And Kaydee, the owner was just super. Thanks
