Ahh…Boca Grande! We are so happy to be back again. Serenity expands as we cross over the causeway bridge and travel back in time to a quiet, elegant stay. We’ve returned to the beautiful tile work, the little lizard house, the well-appointed kitchen, the oh-so-comfortable Tempurpedic bed, breakfasts on the front porch, sunny mornings reading a book lying on the large couch, the great outdoor shower …and that’s just part of what you’ll find in the house itself. We had such fun on this trip. Took lots of great photos of birds – great blue herons, ospreys, willets, sandpipers, pelicans – a birdwatcher’s delight. We found cool shells and compared them to the amazing shell collections on display at the lovely Johann Fust Community Library, itself worthy of a visit for its beautiful garden. Local shops and shopkeepers were, once again, a delight. Restaurant choices were very good. We made an excellent meal of fresh shrimp from Hudson’s grocery. Weddings on Banyan Street, swimming in the Gulf, visiting the historic lighthouse, walks through all the local streets in the historic district and, of course, laying on the beach and just relaxing were all part of a thoroughly enjoyable, relaxing stay. Susan’s attention to our well-being was up to her usual detailed and high standards. And every night, we watched (and photographed) a post-card sunset. Ahhh, Boca Grande. We’ll be back.
