Great keys home!

4 of 5
We had a wonderful time staying at this house. By far the nicest home on the canal and the nicest pool of any house we have every stayed at in the keys. It is truly a resort size pool and the kids loved it. Its about a 3 mile run to get to the open Atlantic from the house but the water was never less than 4 ft deep so it was a very easy run. Access to the gulf was very easy as well with a marked channel nearby. The house is beautifully decorated, very clean and very comfortable beds. All the cookware and dished I could think of were there for us to use. With two full size fridges and a bait freezer there was plenty of room for our stuff. We were disappointed that the downstairs TV was broken before we came and it was not replaced. The manager explained it was being replaced but it was something that was being ordered. With our two families staying at the house it would have been great to have a TV downstairs because all of the kids stayed down there and the adults stayed upstairs. If they just would have let us know the TV was broken and was not going to be replaced before we got there, we could have easily stuck a small flat screen in our trunk. There was a great video game system downstairs for the kids to fill some time when it was pouring outside but no TV. I will say that that ad for the house doesn't indicate that the upstairs and downstairs are not connected on the interior so you have to go outside go between either one. We have stayed enough in the keys to understand that most houses are built like this down there but to someone not familiar with the keys, they may be surprised to see that its kind of like two, two bedrooms houses connected together by an exterior stairwell. I think its a great set up for two families because you can keep the kids downstairs and let the adults have upstairs. We also found out that the comcast wireless internet only works in the morning and we could never get any service whatsoever in the afternoon or evenings. I am sure its just a capacity problem with Comcast. All in all a great house that I would stay at again in a heartbeat!

Great house, great time

5 of 5
What a great time. We had a large group and rented both houses. Michelle was very easy to work with, even replaced a fridge when we first got there. We arrived a day early and the adventure began. House was well stocked with everything we needed, plenty of linens, two roll out beds, new grill, great pool, well maintained grounds and plenty of parking. Very private property with Key Deer visiting us day and night. Even had a surprise visit by a very large manatee while I was cleaning the boat one evening. Dock was plenty big enough for two boats, running water and a nice fish cleaning table. Spanish Harbor is very convenient to both the Atlantic and Gulf sides-Content Key is a must. Bahia Honda State Park, it's marina and world class tarpon fishing is a ten minute boat ride away. You can tie up at the marina and hang out all day for no charge. Looe Key is a thirty minute run from the dock. We hung out with the large resident Goliath grouper both times we went there. When we weren't on the boats, the four kayaks and pool kept the kids busy and happy. No Name Pub for dinner and Springers for lunch. Very convenient to grocery, ice, tackle/bait shops. Key West and Marathon are both about a half hour drive in It was a great rental and we will be back next year.
