We chose this house based on the other reviews because no one in our girls group of 4 had ever been to Anna Maria Island or Holmes Beach before. The house is in a quiet residential area just about a two-minute walk to the beach and about a 5 minute walk to the grocery store, trolley stop, and just a couple minutes further to a strip of other shops including Walgreen's with wine/liquor, a beach sundries shop, gift shop, and a couple of small restaurants. The beach was never crowded in this area but looking towards the north, you will see a crowded area known as Manatee Beach and it does get crowded up there. But it also has a gift shop, beach bar, and concession stand with the longest menu you have ever seen for a concession stand, and totally worth checking out.
The house itself was completely comfortable and well-decorated. The pool was fantastic! So much privacy. Plenty of towels! Beds were comfortable. Showers had great water pressure. Everything was exceptionally clean. Garage had just about every beach supply we needed, even a cooler and a wagon to take to the beach. It was great to use the bikes for rides around the island and up to Manatee Beach. I loved the house and every minute we spent on Anna Maria Island. I am sure I will be back, in fact, I cannot wait.
