Searching for an Ideal Rome Rental? LOOK NO FURTHER!

5 of 5
Deciding to spend a month in Rome we opted to rent an apartment rather than staying at a hotel, and through the help of friends we were introduced to a one bedroom in Trastevere, our location of choice with an affordable “price is right.” When people say “Location is everything” they must have had this rental in mind as its street address, Vicolo della Torre, is not only one of THE most photographed cul-de-sacs in Rome, but is also so ideally situated in the heart of Trastevere with restaurants, supermarkets, taxi stands, washaterias, cafes and shops all within 10 minutes or less of the apartment. The rental is excellently appointed with a comfortable living room adjacent to a well-stocked kitchenette, and large hanging closet, in addition to a dresser more than sufficient for 2 people. A queen-size bed is firm enough to tempt you to sleep just a little longer every morning, and a cosy bathroom well stocked with towels is directly next to the bedroom. Being in a stone building makes for very comfortable in-door temperatures, but in the event those Roman summers become intolerable, there is an air-conditioner which cools you down in minutes. Added amenities include TV, WIFI, CD/DVD player and phone. When we experienced connection problems with our phone and WIFI, our landlords, Romula and Claudio didn’t hesitate to run over to investigate and repair. And saving the best for last: Our Landlords. There could not be more helpful, congenial, knowledgeable and cheerful landlords in all of Rome. For the month we were there, I never saw anything but a large smile on Romula’s face every time we met. And Claudio was her match with an amazing sense of humor that translated directly from Italian into English. This rental is available for short as well as long stays, and when looking for a comfortable and affordable stay in the heart of one of Rome’s liveliest neighborhoods, you need not look further.

“When Good Americans Die, They Go to Paris.” Oscar Wilde

5 of 5
We stayed at this beautiful hideaway in the heart of the 16th arr. for an all too brief 8 days. Our arrival was warmly welcomed by the caretaker, Mona and her assistant, Winston, who greeted us with a delicious selection of cheese and fruit from the local market, and prepared each of the rooms with a bouquet of bright crimson roses; a perfect color to contrast with the white on white decor of the townhouse. My husband, teenage daughter and I fit comfortably in the home, with plenty of space for privacy. The guest bath off the kitchen allowed for the master bath to remain free from our daughter's clutter. Plus, the airy and roomy first floor had plenty of space for her massive luggage from a 6-week journey. We began each day with fresh croissant, pain au chocolate & custard from the corner patisserie and we brewed coffee from the well stocked and appointed kitchen. Every night we ate at one of the local restaurants, except for one night when we "became Parisian" and cooked at home. The selection of local places to eat is excellent. We became regulars at one place in particular, Da Enzo, where the Italian fare was simple and delicious. Finding things to do in Paris is never difficult, but the townhouse's impressive collection of books on Paris, French History and Art Deco design temps one to stay put and get lost in the reading, rather than in the nearby Auteuil, where there is some of the most renown examples of Art Nouveau buildings. Our visit to Paris was made so much better because of this townhouse; its accessibility, security, charm, warmth, size and beautiful design, it was difficult to leave; it was to "die for".

Lovely apt. centrally located in a charming area

5 of 5
Apartment was well furnished with charming flower window boxes overlooking the street. Kitchen was very functional. Great location to every part of the city. Daniel was extremely helpful and answered all questions prior to arriving thoroughly and providing very prompt responses. Would recommend this to anyone and we will stay here again on our next trip to Paris! Restaurant on the corner L'Ilot Vache and the St. Regis were terrific! Make sure to see Notre Dame (5 minute walk) Arc De Troimphe (great view of Eiffel tower from the top) the Louvre, Rodin Museum and take #69 bus out to Pere La Chaise Cemetery to see both Chopin's and Jim Morrison's graves. It is in a beautiful setting! There is a great little restaurant for people watching right outside the exit. Don't miss Versailles (takes a full day but worth it) and the Latin Quarter! Thank you Daniel!
