Perfect!!!

5 of 5
We had a short 5 day stay at this nice, clean, modern and well maintain apartment in the north side of the city(Escalon area). has all the amenities you may need, centrally located and it's exactly as is described in their VRBO page. reasonably price, very safe building with 24 hrs. security guards. Very friendly and informative owner that made us feel at home. I highly recommend this condominium and if available, will definitely stay here next time we go back to San Salvador.

Everything You Need

5 of 5
There were six of us, three couples, that stayed in Marta's wonderful home in Xandau. Each couple had their own room with private bathroom. There is also a comfortable trundle in the living room with a community bathroom. The pool is beautiful and cleaned daily. The stairs down to the beach are right in front of the house and lead down to a rocky beach with a surf break that wasn't too strong when we were there. There is a community pool down by the beach front that is large and made for a great change of scene when leaving paradise. It was about a 15 minute drive into La Libertad, where the main grocery store is, and a 7 minute drive into El Tunco. When we needed to rent a car, it was brought to us. When we needed to get picked up from the airport, done. Marta provided every resource that was needed included a cell phone with all important contact numbers. With the wifi we were able to stay connected as well. Xanadu is as it connotes, a paradise. Highly suggested!

We did not want to leave!

5 of 5
This house, and El Salvador in general, exceeded all our expectations. I traveled to El Zonte with a group of girlfriends on a surf trip. We felt completely safe everywhere we went, even driving at night (renting a car is highly recommended, as there isn't much in El Zonte and you'll have to drive to the nearby towns for restaurants, markets, etc.). The surf break is 100 yards from the house and had perfect surf every morning with the friendliest locals in the lineup. At low tide, the largest tidepool in front of the house becomes a sandy-bottom tub that's ideal for soaking and watching the sunset every night. When we weren't on the beach, we took advantage of the pool in the yard which was almost the same temperature as the sea (about 80-85 degrees!). Carlos (the caretaker) and his family live on the property, but always gave us privacy. He was invaluable in helping us rent surfboards from Olas Permanentes down the beach, breaking open fresh coconuts for us to drink, and escorting us to the waterfalls at Tamanique (where he found us a local guide to take us on the trails). He was definitely one of the most memorable parts of our trip, and by the end of the week, we felt like he was family. It should be noted that in the photos, the white building is not for rent. However, we had full access to the common areas under the white building (hammocks, lounge seating, dining area) and to our knowledge, it's an in-law unit for when the owner Evelyn's family is in town. The rental home is the one with the wooden beams and the open-air bar, living room, and dining room. It's very clean and comfortable, and Carlos or his wife did daily housekeeping in the common areas. We had full run of the entire yard, which is very well-kept and full of lush grass and coconut palms. Stairs lead down to the outdoor shower (which we much preferred over the indoor shower!) and the black sand beach. The home was a sanctuary; very quiet and secluded, with only the sound of waves crashing. Evelyn helped arrange a private chef to come to the house and cook for us all day (which was a real treat -- the chef and his assistant were completely professional and made the most amazing food we had all week in El Salvador) and also a masseuse who set up a table in the yard overlooking the ocean. We were so spoiled! We would definitely come back and stay at Evelyn's beautiful home again.
