What do you say about perfect

5 of 5
My wife and I spent January/February at this condo, including a week visit by my daughter and fiance. The owners were wonderful to work with and Jaime, the young man who manages the apartment, was an amazing resource for anything you needed and became a friend during our stay. Parking was available and secure, but a car is not needed -taxi's and shuttles were abundant and very inexpensive - not to mention driving is quite an adventure. We hired drivers for trips to Cuenca, Inca ruins, Guayaquil, Montanita (a must side trip) and a other side trips. The drivers (arranged by Jaime) turned out to not only be wonderful folks, but terrific tour guides and just very fun to hang out with. The condo is spacious, immaculately maintained, secure and could not have been a better location - Right on the Malecon, on the beach and even next door to a Texas BBQ for those days we were feeling a little homesick. The balcony is an amazing part of the experience. It is enormous and the views are spectacular. Very appropriate for kids of all ages. Other than there being a lot of places in this world we have not yet visited, this would be a perfect location for a winter trip each year.

Very nice location and finishes

4 of 5
The great - the Condo has beautiful finishing's. They really remodeled it nicely, the kitchen is incredible with pretty much everything you would need to get by. The TV is huge with a high level DirecTV package (NFL package as an example). The views are unbeatable, pretty much a view from every room of every part of the peninsula. The location is right in the middle of Salinas so very easy to walk either way for entertainment or a stroll on the beach. Wi-Fi available in the condo is probably as fast as you can get in Salinas - very solid speed and reliable. The building is secure and the security attendants are great - they even washed our car for us one day! Jaime is very helpful and speaks perfect English. The not so perfect - the location is very central and we were there on a holiday weekend...the windows are too thin to protect you from the massive amounts of noise that is Salinas on a weekend (probably any normal weekend as well). There is soccer being played at the yacht club until midnight on the weekend with the noise coming straight to the unit. Then the back side where the master is, is subject to the endless car alarms chirping and police spinning their siren to let the police house know across the street they were checking in. It became much much better during the week when everyone left town - but you still get the occasional car alarm that no one will shut off all night long. Nothing much to do about this down side of the location other than not stay over a weekend and bring some ear plugs. The one thing the owners could do something about - there was clearly some very heavy smoking going on in the condo for quite some time. At least one room there was no possibility to get the smell out as it was extremely bad - probably needs new paint at the very least to try to shake the smell - most likely would take replacing all the furnishings in that bedroom. One last thing that could be improved pretty easily - we were only given one key...so if for some reason we wanted to split up we were stuck with having to coordinate schedules. Overall - a very nice place. Be prepared for noise on a weekend and to either not use the super smoky bedroom (or hopefully they try to shake the scent).

Perfect location, fantastic beach, beautiful property

5 of 5
2 adult couples...needing a rest after a back country tour of Ecuador, and this house was exactly what we needed. 4 full bedrooms, 4 full bathrooms with the most amazing outdoor patio. Other reviewers have mentioned the patio as a highlight and they are absolutely right as it is stunning and perfectly placed to keep the sun and wind out, but allow postcard views of the pool and beach. The beach is smooth, shallow, warm, and virtually rock free for miles. Swim, boogie board or just relax with a spectacular view. The caretakers are wonderful, caring and hard working...they live behind the house but always allowing full privacy. They are ready to take care of your needs anytime, with a smile. Gina is an outstanding cook so be sure to work with her to plan delicious and healthy meals. We recommend her Camarones Panados or her cilantro chicken. Her husband Daniel maintains the grounds with excellence, and booked taxis and truly local tours for us. He even waited up until midnight to ensure our companions left on time, safely. Amazing people! The house cant be more perfectly situated. Hire a local taxi for the day (80$) and go tour Montecristi (true Panama Hats and the Civic Centre)...then Manta...stop at Santa Marianita for seafood by the beach...Puerto Lopez (absolute must - the day tour to Isla de la Plata...) Book surfing lessons in Montanita...then party gently or hard in the bars. Lots of choices. Note - get all you preferred and basic groceries and toileteries before you arrive...but let Daniel get you langoustine, shrimp...and fresh fish as well as fruits and vegetables daily. Maritza, Pedro, Gisella...thank you....we will be back, hopefully soon!
