This comfortable apartment is technically one block across the street from the Mariscal Sucre tourist neighborhood. If you want to stay on top of the party bars, this apartment is not for you. If you want to be able to get to those restaurants and bars within five minutes, this apartment is perfect. It is a block from a transit stop, which whisks you to the old colonial town in minutes. Towards the tourist area are where the chain restaurants are, such as even a Pizza Hut just a block and half away. But if you walk the other direction, half a block up the hill rather than down, there are better restaurants and services, including an american style bakery serving donuts and chocolate chip cookies, as well as the lavenderia - laundry. The grocery stores are in that direction too, which let you make use of the full kitchen.
The hot water showers are pretty good too. The manager of the property lives close by and is quite helpful, especially if your spanish is good. There is small flat screen TV in the living room and the wifi is strong and as good as you are going to get in Ecuador outside of an american hotel.
