This is a building designed as a hotel that is rented out as a villa.
View is outstanding, property is great for a quiet time in San Lorenzo (small town on the coast). The beach is almost entirely your own. There is a turtle reserve on the beach so chance to see turtles hatching/laying eggs. The local staff were very helpful (be aware they only speak Spanish). There is a great restaurant not too far down the street in town with quite reasonable prices and good food. Some fun local activities to do - hike to the light house, hike through the Monkey reserve. The bedroom furniture is quite functional and the beds comfortable. AC in all rooms although you won't likely need it (at least not on very high if you do). Good and bad is the location - it's fantastic to be more isolated from the hustle of the big cities but you really need a car to get around. Closest real grocery shopping is a 30-40 minute drive to Manta.
The not as good: Very nice pool although a bit cold, they can heat one section of the pool to make it reasonable for a 'warm tub' at request. But our daughter kept cutting her toes on probably a broken tile that we couldn't find in that tub.
The furnishings downstairs could use some updating but are functional. The cooking supplies could use updating in the kitchen - which is a very nice professional stove so long as you get past having to use the lighter to start it without burning your eyebrows.
Only disappointing things - they have fantastic new flat screens in every room, however they have only paid for one satellite receiver so if you want to watch something you have to go downstairs and change the channel there and then every tv in the house gets that show. Wireless is available but it is a shared Wi-Fi from a cell phone. So you are getting the spotty 2G service that exists in San Lorenzo...don't expect much more then email if that from the internet available.
Overall - a really enjoyable place to stay. Could be better of course with some small investments but we thought the location was outstanding!
